Dont watch it!! before surgery my husband and I would watch the food network and the DIY network all weekend..and I know how hungry it would make me and it always made me want to eat..Im the same way with looking at cookbooks...so I do not allow foodnetwork on in my home anymore and even though I bought about 4 weight loss surgery cookbooks, I havnt opened them yet!! sounds kinda extreme but these are my triggers to want to eat and make myself hungry:) or think Im hungry...

I dunno why you're doing that to yourself, but you're not the only one.

At the gym I go to, there's a bank of televisions in front of the treadmills and one guy comes in to run and watches food network while he's doing it.

Drives me NUTS..rolleyes.gif LOL. But maybe you could try something like that.. only let yourself watch if you exercise while watching. Wouldn't have to be a treadmil.. could get dumbbells (or even big cans of veggies) and do bicep curls.

Before I got my first fill, all I did was watch shows about food! I guess because food was on my mind every waking hour!

My mom would say why are you watching all those food shows....I just said "wishfull watching"

This post actually made me laugh outloud when I saw it. I'm about 2 weeks post op and that is all I want to watch....cooking shows!!! The strange thing is that I'm not hungry when I watch it and I'm not finding that it's making me hungry at all..... but I just enjoy watching it now and seeing all the food. Strange huh? I'm glad to see I"m not the only person that has found themselves doing this lol

I've got this problem, too. I even watch "Man vs. Food" on the Travel channel. My husband just teases me that I'm trying to figure out how many days it would take me to eat some of that stuff. Last night, Adam was trying to eat a 7 lb Italian dinner. My husband said that I would probably take me until Christmas to finish it.

My son has a better idea...he wants to create "Band vs. Food" Here's the premise...you get a bunch of banders together and see how many bites of whatever they can get down and then they have a contest to see how fast they can get rid of the rest of the meal. I'm sure we can work out the details later, but I know I'd watch it.

Gotta go...it's time for another episode of Diners, Drive-ins and Dives....

Try living with a professional chef...and our business Professor Chef (we run cooking classes!) food Network and Cooking Channel on most of the time - surrounded by cookbooks - entering cooking contests - testing recipes. Now for the good news, I'm doing well with my band and he is losing without a band! I HAD to change my diet and had HAD to come along with me. I have lost 19lbs since surgery on Jult 15th he has lost 25 lbs!

OMG I'm addicted to food Network TOO! Before banding we looked at it alot...I was banded two weeks ago and now I look at Man vs. Food like its PORN! I think about how the food would taste...how much I would LOOOVE to have it live in my belly with its gooey cheezy goodness! I feel like they're training me to be ANOREXIC! I am praying I can stay on track till I get upgraded to mushies!

I am with you on the "cake boss" I just love that show. I mostly love Anthony Bourdain "No reservations" He is one hottie, and the food is most excellent! If you are going to dream.....dream big!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
