    • I still have the compulsion to snack.
    • I do not have the compulsion to snack.
    • I can control the compulsion to snack.
    • I still give in to the compulsion to snack.

Crispaholic, regarding the apples & pears, have you tried peeling them first? Sometimes fruit peelings agree with me and other times they just cause discomfort. I never know which it's going to be, so I peel most of the time. Probably a good idea anyhow with all the pesticides that are sprayed on apples.

Good Luck.

Thanks Melissannde......no I have not peeled them....I bought one of those ready made fruit cartoons in work with prepared fruit.....I threw up after eating a slice of apple, piece of pineapple and two grapes! I will bring a fruit knive with me...luckily in Ireland we don't really spray with pesticides so our fruit is not perfect and shinny as the fruit in the USA :smile2: .....thank you for your advice....I was trying to eat the skins as the dietican told me I should eat the skins for 'crunch texture'.....I just got fed up trying to eat the dam apple I threw it away

I don't know if it is a compulsion, I like to refer to it as "head Hunger" even though I am not hungry, I get an idea in my head I want something and it is so hard to get that thought out! I was banded 12/20/08 and am to goal with 90 pds lost. I do splurge now and again so as to not be obsessed about having something and go up and down 2 pds but I can live with that and am so much happier in life since losing this weight. I don't know if the head hunger ever goes away, but like they have said here, we do have some control with having the band, thank you whoever invented the band to begin with!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
