Does it hurt for you to sit after weight loss?

Recommended Posts

I've lost 79 pounds and I have noticed it hurts to sit on any hard surface, like a floor or a toilet! I guess I'm so used to having a lost of cushion back there. Just curious if anyone else is seeing this. :-) Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I've lost the weight and I guess it is a good problem to have. It is just going to take some time to get used to it.

It doesn't hurt to sit (I hope I don't get there but I do have another 60 to go!) but I know I can't do sit ups/crunches on hard floors anymore. The bone where my butt is starts to ache like crazy!

Yep, I get a serious case of bleacher butt after a game. Used to do a triple header...no way now!

Haha! Me too! I have noticed that chairs are harder, even car seats get me to bouncing around after a short time. But, I would not trade this feeling, my butt has almost disappeared.

Yes! I have pelvic issues to begin with (history of trauma)---and the lack of cushioning is really painful1

Glad to know that I'm not alone. LOL Yeah, I wouldn't trade it for anything either. It is a good problem to have. :-) It also hurts when I'm in the tub.

Sitting doesn't bother me but lying in bed at night (I'm a side sleeper) my knees hurt terribly! And my dh now says my bones hurt him!

Yes! My butt bones and my tail bone hurt after sitting for a while. The tail bone especially.

I NEVER had that problem before!

So funny that I read this from you. I have lost 93 pounds and I am now 150. I asked my husband the other day if you are supposed to feel butt bones when you sit....he thought I was joking...I wasn't! I have been well padded in that area since I was a child. Now , for the first time, I can feel the bones!!!!!!

YES, it hurts to sit. I can feel my bones starting to poke through and my tailbone gets achy after a while.

I also have another problem. I have loose skin on my butt and if I do not get it situated properly it sort of folds over and pinches. Anyone else have this happen?

I hope that skin will tighten up more and fit my new butt after a while. :scared2:

I still have a lot to lose so I hope it does not get worse!

Of course, I would rather have to wiggle around frequently than be fat!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
