Does anyone have any good Soup recipes? I am on the pre-op diet and I am sick of Campbells soup!

I usally get chicken broth and put some of my fav veggies in there. if you want a little more Protein, you can get some frozen butternut squash to thicken it a little

Simmer some cubed zucchini and onion with some chicken broth. Blend it until smooth, add a little skim milk for Protein and a touch of grated parm cheese for added flavor. If you need to thicken it you can always add a few tablespoons of instant mashed potatoes.

I just did the same thing with broccoli and plan on doing it with cauliflower and asparagus.

I also made homemade chicken broth with veggies and blended them so the texture was smooth. It was a nice change from the average cup of broth.

Give them a try...plus the homemade ones won't have as much sodium. I think you'll like them.

Take Care!

I am on full liquids after sugery and found that my favorite ready made Soup is Pacific brand Sweat Red Pepper and Tomato Soup (Organic). I am not into organic but that's the only way this flavor comes. I really like it and I don't like Tomato soup. Go figure.

Watch the sodium in the Soups you buy off the shelf. With that said, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this Cashew Ginger Carrot by Pacific Naturals and the Roasted Red Pepper and Tomato. They also have low sodium soups out now. They are soooo good. Usually found in the health food isle or organic section. Totally worth the extra money to get through the liquids, post op diet and fills... thats a lot of soup!

when I can't make my own, I love those Soups. I haven't tried the carrot ginger yet. Maybe I will get that tomorrow. My kids even love them. I put them in their sippy cups and they drink them. This is how I get them to eat vegetables. Prior to my surgery, I also used them as the base for some of my other recipes. They are great sounds to have in the pantry.

I have a recipe for roasted red pepper Soup that is awesome if you are interested. It is excellent. I also use a pressure cooker to cut down on cooking time.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
