Low Cost & Low Starting BMI

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am looking forward to being banded, but am still looking for a low cost package in Southern California.

Does anyone have current prices on packages around here?

Also, I have a starting BMI of 33 and was wondering if anyone else has been in my situation or know anyone else who has? What is the expected loss and rate of loss? Any other info would be great! Also, if anyone recommends Mexico packages, please site the office/dr. name for referrence. Thanks so much! Sabrina

The place I go to does the whole thing including fills and everything for 15,300 and they are always there to answer the phone they work with you the gastric banding medical group has been very good so far went to one of their support groups and looking around i decided to go with them. Having my procedure done on saturday :) The price might look like a big tag but really how much do you plan on paying for the fills and all the extras? I think its a good deal all in all..

I was banded 5/18 by Dr. Sunil Bhoyrul in La Jolla. He is an excellent surgeon and practices at Scripps. Excellent Dr. and Excellent Staff. Approx. $15,000. includes first year fills. I was self pay with bmi of 33. I have lost 25 lbs. 10 weeks out. I wouldn't use anyone else and was referred to him by another doctor.

I was banded with a BMI of 34 in Dallas, TX by Dr. Jaysalean. It was self pay at a cost of $10,250.00 with 3 free fills (With Fluoroscope). I am nearly 7 weeks into this and have lost 17 lbs. I have been extremely pleased so far.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
