Can we blend/puree any soup to make it liquid?

Recommended Posts

I read somewhere that instead of straining our Soup and drinking the juice that we could blend it all to a liquid consistency and just drink the whole thing. Now before I do this and mess something up I want to know what you guys think about this?

Is that acceptable or not??

Also how much liquid should we consume at one time? What I mean is should we have a 1/4 cup of soup/broth at a time or does it matter?

I did! I bought a Magic Bullet and I used that to puree every Soup I had. Split pea, chicken noodle, cream of chicken, cream of potato, broc and cheese, you name it. It made the full liquids phase sooooooooo much easier :(

Usually the typical bandster rules don't apply when you're in liquid and mushie stages, so limiting your intake isn't necessary, as long as it's the right consistency for the stage you're in. It's about letting your body heal, not weight loss just yet. (Although weight loss is a nice side effect of these stages.)

And yeah, you can eat anything as long as it could be sipped through a straw. (But don't drink em that way...causes gas. lol.)

I was told as long as it fits through a straw when blended, you can have it.

That magic bullet was definitely worth the money. I still use it for my regular cooking. It's simple and fast! I'd pay for it all over again.

Mine came with 3 or 4 different blades, 4 cups, and a couple different lids.

I've been thinking of buying one of those. Are they really as easy and great as the infomercial makes them out to be?

I like mine but don't LOVE it, as some do. I don't like it for Protein Shakes as it makes em too frothy. (Protein has a soapy something in it, makes suds.) I like it for making foods soft though, like crabmeat, chicken. Going back though, I'd have bought a less expensive version with less bells and whistles...I don't use the bells and whistles much.

I do grind coffee Beans with it though. =)

I use the same $9.99 hand blender to make Soups all the time (and froth milk for a latte) and it works well!

p.s. I had a magic bullet. Got it as a wedding gift. I am a kitchen gadget fan but I did not like it very much at all! I gave it away as i never used it!

I am in week 2 post op and I started blending everything until it was all soupy. Iv blended potato Soup and chili as well. I bought a $200 emulsifier but took it back and got the $50 magic bullet and I use it all the time for shakes and my Soups. I think its the easiest and quickest thing and the best, at least for full liquid and mushy stage.< /p>

I want to get the magic bullet and use one of my BB&B 20% off coupons. Just have to talk DH into letting me get it since he thinks I should just use the blender that we have. Meh- what does he know?????

I use the magic bullet all the time. It has a few different blades with it. It doesn't puree everything. It's quite handy! They have recipes on their website as well.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
