Hey there everyone. I was hoping to get a few opinions here to help me out.

I am going on vacation in two weeks, I currently have 4cc's in a 10cc band and do not have much restriction yet. I have been will powering my way through over eating and doing my best to make good food choices. I have a fill appointment two days before I leave for vacation and at the last two visits my doctor has put in 2cc each time. My question is, if it were you, would you try adding 2cc more or 1cc more even if you were able to get down your Water easily at 2cc? I am afraid that I will get stuck or need an unfill while I am away.

If it were you what would you do? TYIA

I would discuss your concerns with your doctor. I agree, being overfilled while your out of town would not be good to say the least. Again, talk to your doc. and the 2 of you can come up with a plan.

Personally, I'd wait to get a fill until you get back. I'm at 6cc after having been too full for months and know that I'm now able to eat anything I want. However, I've decided to stay at 6cc because we're going on vacation in 2 months and the last thing I want to do is have to look for a bathroom...several times...during meals. Which is what the last few months have been like.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
