Not just the Oscar Meyer...I start my day with an Optifast shake which is 160 cal, my lunch or dinner is usually Greek yogurt 80 cal. my other meal has been different like 2 days i made a quesadilla using chicken italian sausage, low fat cheese and low carb tortilla. 1tblsp sour cream on the side. zero calorie drinks all day including mostly Water. Tday im eating tuna fish with endive. Tuna made with tuscan italian dressing which allows me to cut 2/3 the mayo I would normally use and a boiled egg. I can eat 4x from this one can of tuna. Im thinking my calorie count is pretty low and I stay in ketosis.

Remaining in ketosis encourages rapid weightloss but i find that it does not work for me. I lose a lot of weight and as soon as I start eating it creeps back on again.

When I was weeks into my journey, I could not eat much but I tried to stay within the 800cal mark. It was sometimes unachievable and I had to live on greek yoghurt. That soon passed though and I needed a lot of fills to reach the green zone.

Your food choices are good so I guess you only have to keep up the good work.

I have been in high ketosis for 4days now and the scale has not moved. I havent measured myself since pre op. I could be losing inches instead of weight. I may remeasure tmro morning.

Wowza!! 800 calories?? That seems crazy to me!! I try not to EVER go below 1000 and stay around the 1300-1400 mark. I guess it just depends on each person!!

That was when I was a few weeks post surgery and I could not eat much. The 800cal was even a stretch but not now. I actually keep within the 1500cal mark now and try hard not to go below that but not always successful. Sometimes I eat too much, others I stay sane.

Darkangel appears not to be eating much and as she said remains in ketosis so I`m trying to encourage her to eat a bit more. However, if she is anything like me I could not eat much a few weeks post surgery. The feedback is always great, Okiegirl. It helps. Hope you`re doing well.

Oops!! I didn't read very carefully!!! :)

What you are saying is SO TRUE!! Not eating enough calories does not have a good effect on my body AT ALL!! :)

To Okiegirl & KCG, I actually feel like I can eat more. I'm 18 days post op and don't get my first fill until 10/15/12. Im am a stress eater and a habitual grazer. I'm trying hard to break all my previous bad eating habits. I'm also trying to feel out my mental hunger vs my true hunger. Can't quite tell the difference yet. I don't share myself or ask for help...previous bad habits. This is why i'm on this app reading posts, sharing my journey and asking questions. I want to learn what I don't know and not limit myself to my own bubble. I thank you for your information, advice and encouragement...sincerely. I cannot do this without the help of others. I do snack on sugar free popsicles.:-)

It`s good that you can eat more but restrain yourself. However, I prefer not to be in ketosis because when I come out of it, I gain all the weight back.

The head hunger never went away from me but I try to control it, sometimes unsuccessfully. I`ve gained a lot from others on various forums and keep working hard to get it right but never do. lol.

Darkangel, keep sharing your successes and strugles and you will get the support needed. During the journey, you might come to a point that you feel the desperate enough to drop the batton, don`t do so just reach out. sugar-free popsicles sound good!

You are definately right about ketosis. My plan is to slowly ween out of ketosis starting around week 8. Im hoping by then I will have seen stready results. At that point I will begin adding real world food. Hopefully, that slow pace will keep me from gaining weight.

Feeling a bit puffy / bloated today and have already eaten all my daily calories already but know I will eat more today. Nevertheless, I`ve already been to two classes today, spinning and aqua zumba. I`ll try and see whether I could go for bokwa tonight. I`ve had two days break from exercise so I should have the energy but I feel a bit floppy today.

Hope you are all doing well. Happy bandversary to all who had their surgery on the 1st of Oct.

You are so good with your physical activity. I got nothing done this weekend. My car is screwed up so I couldn't get to the park. In the shop tday...additional 3 days down. May not make the park til Thursday. Good thing is I didn't stress eat. :-) Just Joined My Fitness Pal app tday. I really like it. you should check it out. If you like it "friend" me and pass the word. Im also on Map My Walk. Having a problem understanding how to "map" myself during my powerwalks, but I'll figure it out. I really like that one too. New week, new month...bigger and better things!

Yeah bigger and better things this month! I`m happy for you that you didn`t stress eat when things were not working as you expected. That`s encouraging. I will check the My Fitness Pal app and friend you if I join. Have you lost any weight since last week? Are you healing well?

I've not lost since last week and it is discouraging. I know it's still early in and we are all different but I dont see anyone with my slow progress. I've taken your advice increased my calorie intake eating more. Im still in ketosis, moderate as of this morning. Im also considering the fact that my exercise in the last week was a little less than the pace I had been maintaining. I guess healing is ok. I had to put a bandage on the wound nearest my breast where my bra rests. It looked as though it opened up. One thing new is the last 24 hrs my face broke out. That I really dont like. Don't know why but I know eventually, that too shall pass.

Considering that you are still at the healing stage, not losing any weight is not a bad thing, provided you`re not gaining. It`s all about will power now until you start filling. The wound that is opened, is it the one covering the port? If it is, you might need to check to make sure that it is not infected. Hope you have a good day.

How nice to hear from fellow Oct. bandsters! I was banded on Oct. 4, 2010. I've lost 148 lbs. with about 20 more pounds to go. I can't tell you how happy I am. I went for lunch to a buffet the other day. I have not been there in a long time, but I know the owner. She seated us and I said, Thanks, Angie. She later came up to me and said, "I don't think I know you, are you from the college (where I work)?" She didn't recognize me!!

Of course, I only have my own experience for reference, but here's what I know for sure.

1. Everyone's lapband journey is so different! From the Doctors, to the surgery, post-surgery, and on.. everyone has a different experience.

2. People don't generally know what the lapband is all about. They'll say.. "she took the easy way", or "how come you haven't lost more?" and they really don't understand how hard this is.

3. It took me a long time to figure this lapband thing out.(No, you can't overeat, yes you have to Chew, chew Chew.)

Good luck to my fellow Oct bandsters! Love hearing from all of you!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
