How many lbs is everyone losing on average per week...

Recommended Posts

Just curious as to how many pounds everyone is losing on average a week. Go for 2nd fill tomorrow hoping that starts the losing process back up.

When I first got banded I was losing 2 lbs a week steadily. Then about 6 months into it I started losing 2 lbs every other week. Then in November I hit a wall and stayed there for about 6 months and I've lost 10 lbs in the last 6 weeks. So my weight loss while steady at first is now all over the place.

2.6 pounds/week is my average. But it frequently comes off in smaller or larger amounts---bodies are weird.

It depends with me. Right after surgery, I was losing a lot - 4-5 lbs a week, now I'm down to 2 or a little over a week. I'm sure it will get slower the more I lose and the closer I get to my goal. I've heard from numerous people that is the norm.

2.7 lbs/week, but like Betsy said, sometimes it's 5 lbs/week and only 1 lb the next. However, I am certainly not complaining!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
