Do you think I need another fill?

Recommended Posts

I've had two fills so far the first one was 2 CC and the second was .5cc. I had 3 cc placed in my band during surgery so I have a total of 5.5cc. It seems like it's not that much and I would like to have another .5 cc fill on Monday. The concern is that I get stuck quite often and I have to throw up a few times a week. Not after every meal. I think it's because I eat the wrong foods or I eat too fast and don't chew enough. I don't want to get another fill if I don't need it but I don't really think I have restriction yet? Any advice?

What are the scales saying? If you are losing 1-2 pounds a week I would hold off on a fill until you have mastered eating at this fill. Just an opinion.

Good luck,

Mimi

You need to improve your eating techniques before you get another fill because it will cause you to throw up more than you are now and jeopardize your band (slippage).

So if it were me, I would make a deal with myself, if I can learn better eating skills and go 2 weeks without throwing up I will get another fill, to help me with my hunger and restriction.

Good luck.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
