Got my first fill was 2 days ago..Question

Recommended Posts

Hi All - I got my first fill 2 days ago and it did not hurt at all! My question is - my band is a 8cc and they filled me with 5cc's yesterday - is that a good amount? Today was the first day I was allowed to eat - so I think the 5cc's is good for me - I had 1 1/2 egg whites at 9am and got full with thoses (orderd 2 but couldn't eat them all) then wasn't hungrey til about 12:30 and eat the smallest salad ever and was full and I still feel full....this is a good thing - correct? The only thing is I don't feel thirsty and they want me to drink 64 ozs....I have been nursing a 20oz bottle all day??? Any thoughts from the pros on here? thanks

I was just banded on july 1st so I havent had a fill yet, but to me it sounds like you got a good fill. As far as drinking i am not a big drinker so i also have problems with that, not sure if that has to do with your fill.. Congrats and keep up the good work!

The Water is more important than most people realize.

Water performs many functions but one of the most important is carrying waste and toxins out of your system

Is the reason you are drinking so little physical or mental? Could you force yourself to drink the water?

If you can't drink 64 ounces of water in a day, you are too tight.

I agree that bumping up your Fluid is crucial. It is very, very important to drink enough Fluid.< /p>

Don't wait until you are thirsty--drink up, throughout the day.

As for your question regarding whether 5 ccs is a "good amount," it sounds like, for you, it is great. It's quite an aggressive fill for a first one, but early in the game, it's pretty common for doctors to give larger fills. (As you get closer to restriction--if you require more restriction, you'll probably find that the doctor gives tinier and tinier amounts each time.)

Now...go drink up!

I almost never feel thirsty and I also struggle with the Water thing. I do feel tired though, and it is almost always when I have neglected my water. If I drink, I feel better almost imediately. You might be a very tiny bit too tight, but you should wait because it will loosen with time. Keep sipping water, it is so important for a lot of reasons!!! Hugs!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
