White meat has been a problem. Any fried chicken is a big no-no for me as well, although my doctor wonders why I'm even trying fried food if I'm trying to lose weight. Other than that, stringy food like asparagus, pineapple, long Pasta, broccoli stems, celery have all presented problems.

The only thing I really cant eat is huge meals. I can get any food down without too much trouble.

But like you mention, there are several that just turn my stomach. I would STARVE before I'd eat pizza, the smell of it cooking, the sight of it, it makes me dry retch. It absolutely nauseates me and I dont really know why, I've never had an issue with it (although its never been a favourite food). This has come on over the last 12 months and i've been banded nearly five years!

The same thing with grilled cheese. I used to eat cheese on toast or toasted cheese sandwiches happily, now the very thought makes the bile rise in my throat. The smell of it cooking is hideous.

I have 6 cc in my band (I go for a fill tomorrow), but I really haven't had any problems. I can still eat whatever I want. I'm sure that will change once I hit restriction. I still haven't learned to eat slower and take smaller bites, but I think that will come.

I am still able to eat everything. I am almost at my sweet spot, so not sure if that will change after my next fill in 2 weeks.

I can not eat

bread, french fries, any kind of meat. Other then these I have not found anything else that would not go down. Bread is the biggie that sticks and then I have to try and get it up or down (usually up).

Ugh, I am having serious problems lately. I haven't had a fill since the first part of May. I was suppose to be at 7 cc's in a 10 cc band. I used to be able to eat almost anything, up until about 2 1/2 weeks ago. Then I go sick and was in bed for two days and didn't eat much. Now I am having trouble eating a lot of things.

Right now, popcorn, chips, crackers, crunchy Cereal, ice cream, pudding, coffee all go down just fine. But bread, meat, eggs, Pasta, rice, veggies all get stuck. I am at the end of my rope. I don't know what to do. I am even having problems eating thick oatmeal.

I don't know what has changed.

well sweetie all that I can say is hang in there I am still learning my band as well. it constantly changes up on me one day I can eat chicken the next day I cant... I think when u get sick and we are unable to eat it makes the band tighter so u have to really be careful of what u try to eat until it losen up again... pray before u try to eat n hopefully things will get better 4 all of us who r dealing with these issues:thumbup::ohmy:

It depends on the time of day for me. When I first get up in the morning, I don't do so well with any kind of food. By midday, though, I'm good with pretty much everything as long as I don't get too big a bite. French fries don't do too well, which is GOOD since I love the things. I still drink diet soft drinks occasionally, though not with food- that's guarenteed pain. My problem food is ice cream, of all things. I never liked it much before, but it feels so nice sliding down.

bread. while I can eat scrambled eggs, it appears I can't do deviled/boiled eggs. I didn't have really any issues till last week and now I seem to be struggling with a lot of things. Even mushies last night didn't agree. I think I need to back off a bit and go back to liquids/sliders for a bit.

My surgeon thinks perfection is the inability to eat breads...I have full restriction, but bread doesn't bother me...it's just everything else that's difficult :) I can't eat most pork, steak, white meat, hard boiled eggs...forget about any type of pizza...but I could probably live on ice cream, if I didn't suffer the guilt from eating it :)...even bananas are sometimes difficult to swallow...

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
