Going for another fill, I need some advice

Recommended Posts

I have the 10cc Swedish band, and I currently have 7cc but still able to eat... going again for another fill, should I take it up to 9cc or 8cc?

What you guys think? confused.gif

Personally I would go with 8cc, its a very fine line between loose and tight. 2cc at this stage could cause you probs. You are still meant to be able to eat.

Knowing when to get a fill is some times difficult. If you are able to eat 4 oz. of SOLID Protein and stay full for 3-5 hours you are probably at your sweet spot. If you have hunger sooner than you should get a fill. But my doctor says that as you get closer to your sweet spot he usually only gives small fills. Every doctor is different though. I believe the only person who can tell if you are at your sweet spot is you. Best wishes!!!

"but still able to eat" - um, you do realise, that being unable to eat is not the goal?

Sorry, I know its probably just how you said it, but the real point is, are you losing?

it doesnt matter if you eat five cups of food at a meal if you're losing weight. There is no point and no need to aim for teeny tiny portions if you dont need to. It only makes being adequately nourished harder.

Really, you only need a fill if you've stopped losing weight. None of those things you read - feeling huneger when you havent eaten for four horus, eating more than half a cup, still being able to eat bread, are reason for getting a fill. Not losing any weight and being starving hungry in between meals are when you get filled.

I was at 8cc's yesterday and the doctor put in .5 because he said 3-4 hours of restriction was good. I wanted to make the meal last about 5 hours so hopefully this will do it. I only lost a lb last month so I knew I had to do something different. My doctor takes things slow so I just have to go with it. Good luck.

Rose, all I can say is wow! You get totell your doctor how many CCs to fill your band with? That's pretty awesome! I have to wait for mine to tell me how many he's even going to put in. I must remember to ask next time.

Anyway, please let me know how things turn out for you. I go for my 2nd fill on the 28th and so far I have NO restriction. You'll give me hope if you finally get the restriction that you need.

Best of Luck!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
