Am I at my "sweet Spot" or do I need an Unfill!? HELP ME! :)

Recommended Posts

So last thursday I had a pretty small fill (1/2 cc) which brings me up to 7.5cc's in a 10cc band. Prior to my last fill I felt no restriction at all. Now I have restriction- BIG TIME. I'm only able to eat very little ( i'm talking like just a few smalls bites) Feels like the food is just sitting in my throat. I'm not drinking when i eat at all, but when I do have something to drink it usually results in me vomiting. I'm pretty sure I need a very small "unfill" but I'm curious as to what some of you may think? Any one have the same type of problem. Thanks a lot fellow bandsters

You definitly need some saline taken out and it might just be a little bit? You should stick with liquids and soft foods after a fill?? Were you eating solids?? Your band will be swollen for a few days after your fill, so it may make it difficult for solid foods to pass through?? Hope this helps??

Thanks for the quick reply! I just started solids yesterday. My Dr. advises Liquids for 2 days, mushies the next 2, and then solids after. I followed that 100%. I think I'm gonna make that appt for my unfill. Thanks again!

When I was a wee bit too tight any Fluid I drank felt like it sat at the base of my throat also and it was hard to get enough daily Fluid intake. Many foods were uncomfortable to eat but I was usually able to eat the right amount of food. Pbing and sliming were common (couple of times/week) as well as acid reflux if I ate too late. When I had a slight unfill (.1 cc) everything got better. The reflux went away, I was able to drink fluids adequately and I was able to eat any kind of food as long as I took my time.

It sounds to me like you are a bit too tight, but give it a few more days to see if you are just swollen from the fill. Otherwise, a tiny unfill can help tremendously!

Thanks Emjay. I'm exactly like you were. I'm barely able to drink anything and as far as eating goes its been a few small chunks of watermelon so far for today only. I did weigh myself and it says i've lost 6 pounds since Thursday!

I have an appt. at 3 for a slight unfill. Thanks for replying.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
