~*~ June 2010 Exercise challenge and chat ~*~

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone! Ok so I fell off the wagon last month... well this month won't be any better. I've moved and still in process, its really difficult right now. I can't let that keep me from doing the right thing tho, so this month I propose to myself to do at least 30 minutes activity per day. I just leave it up to me to choose what it will be.

What will you do?

Remember to check in and let us all know how you are doing!!

Hey LilMiss! Count me in. I fell off for about a week, but I'm back!

Here's my challenge for the month:

- Couch to 5K, 3 days a week (usually about 30 minutes each)

- 30 minutes of other exercise, 2 days a week (probably either walk, swim laps, or weights- or a combination)

Awesome GG and get, welcome!!

I know 30 minutes per day is so doable. If I find myself not even doing that, then I'm just being plain lazy!!!

Of course I have not done that yet. But I will I will I WILL!! The reason I chose such a small amount is that we just bought a new house. Alot of my time and energy are spent cleaning and fixing up the new one and moving out of the old one. It consumes you I'm telling you!

Best of all that good!

I forgot to add that yesterday I did 30 min (C25K). Today, I will probably swim some laps later this evening if it's not raining. If it rains, I will make this a rest day (my body is telling me I need one, lol). Tomorrow, I will do C25K again.

Awesome good job GG!!

I have not been avoiding this place just super busy. Ive been putting alot of hours in working on my new house, and with as much as Ive been sweating I think it does add into my 30 minutes a day activity. Yesterday I put in 4!! Today I did about 1... but still. Its super tiring!

How is everyone doing? Anyone new wanna join in? Remember, the Band is only partially the battle. The real battle is within ourselves, making the right food choices and moving, moving and moving our bodies some more!

:)

I'll join if you don't mind. A couple weeks ago I started walking. A few times last week I did 2.5 in the morning and 1.5 in the eve. It kinda wore me out but dang did i feel good! This morning I did a good brisk 30 min walk, i took a new route so i am not sure how far it was yet. My goal is to incorporate some sit ups and push ups in to the routine.

I would love to do this too. I start my Water arobics tomorrow but that is only 2x a week and I need more then that. So I will challenge myself to walking 2+ miles a day and strength training for at least 15 min a day.:tongue2:

Hey gg, I'm sure you will do great on week 2! I so wish I could run again. I really need to get my knees fixed. :-(

Welcome, welcome, WELCOME!!

I know you all can stick with it! Just keep in touch and talk about it. Its so important to move move move!

Yesterday I did 30 minutes calisthenics and today I did over an hour of housework. You know I actually get more tired and break a sweat doing the housework than i do my normal workouts? Not to mention its quite a bit more interesting! :tongue2:

Lets do it guys and gals!!!

I am back!!! I had another surgery on 5/27 so all I can do is walk. I sarted out walking just 10 min. a day again. I did not think that was worth posting. However I found out yesterday I can do 30 min. So for the rest of June I will walk everyday for 30 min.

I got a little to big for my pants Tuesday. I was walking at A pretty good pace when i met up with my mom and 9 year old niece. The pace slowed a bit so I challenged my niece to a race to the next lite poll. I had no clue the little stinker could run that fast!! I turned up the heat and next thing you know whamo, sharp pain shooting up my hamstring in to my groin and butt! I finished the walk, about 1/4 mile left, went home and took a muscle relaxer and 800mg IBU. I only walked a mile last night, a slow mile at that. I am feeling significantly better today so i will try to pick it up tonight and try for a fast paced 2 mile walk.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
