10 days Post op and down 22 POUNDS and feeling GREAT!

Wow! Congratulations! That's wonderful. We all lose at different rates and it seems you are one of the lucky ones that loses it fast. I was banded on 5/03/10 and lost an initial 10 pounds and then nothing for two weeks. Yesterday I saw the scale start moving so I'm on my way, too!

Keep up the good work and stay positive. It's going to come off whether it's slowly or quickly. It's going to happen.

Congratulations to you too. You are doing great... there are some people who would give their right arm to lose what you have.. trust me my sister is one of them. She can even lose 2 pounds so count your blessings.

Good luck and keep in touch.

Congratualtions to you too. Okay the 64oz of Water is done over the course of the day I sip sip sip till I can't sip anymore and normally finish around 8 or 9 at night with the full 64. As far as the Protein goes. I do not drink Protein shakes since I am lactose intolerant. I drink the little bullet shots that are smal and fruityl....... and are 26 grams of protein in one. Its literally like a shot so its cool and does not taste that bad and almost 30 grams of protein.... EXCELLENT makes me almost halfway to my daily goal. I only eat 3 times a day NO Snacks. maybe a sugar free popcicle around 3 but thats it. right now I am on any Beans and a boiled egg for Breakfast. apple sauce (no sugar) is also allowed. but I NEVER can finish the small apple sauce container. Let me know your tips too...lol

thanks

Dana

Way to go on ur progress!! and thanks for sharing ur daily Water / protein intake because i to was wondering how in the heck was I suppose to get 64oz of water in and im barely getting 16.9oz in a day. I am jus not that thirsty during the day. I have to make myself drink that lil 16.9oz amount!!

Hey there,

I use Body Fortress "Super Whey" Protein Shot "Fruit Punch" flavor Supplement - 17.4 Oz

$9.94 @ Walmart for an 8 Pack

They taste OKAY (trust me I have had worse and they give you 26 grams of protein a shot so 2 a day and a little loose protein sprinkled in your meals will make the 60 gram goal. I drank one shot in like 2 minutes... was not hard to get down at all!!

Good Luck

I hope you like it!!

Hi Dana:

I want to first say I am sorry if I sounded mean or offensive that was not my intent. Sometimes reality can get away from us and I see your feet are firmly planted on the ground. Now thank you I can't drink the Protein drinks because the grit just makes me puke! (TMI sorry) but I had no clue of the bullet shot, that for me would be great because it would mean one shot and I am done! So thanks and good luck on your journey. Please add me to your friends page :cursing:

Thanks

Sandee

Thanks Dana,

Your tips are very helpful... as for the Protein Drink, what is the name of the product so I can go buy it. My dietician told me I was too low on Proteins and need to increase it.

Thanks again

I am struggling to get the Protein down as well. I could handle Oh Yeah! Protein Drinks before and the first few days after surgery, now they all make me want to hurl. I can barely stomach the whey powder that is supposed to be flavorless...the odor and sweetness are killing me. Any suggestions? I have lost 21 lbs. since surgery on 6/9 and don't want to go into malnutrition without getting even close to the protein goal in each day.

My dietician said to be very careful of the Protein shots as some of them are made with inferior Protein and do not contain all the amino acids that you have to have to get a complete protein. Be sure to check out the label and research complete Proteins.

I am allergic to dairy also so I use soy Protein Powder from the healthfood store. It is grainy and has an odd texture, but fortunately I don't mind that.

You all are doing great! Keep up the good work!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
