Just an update for those of you who may be in the same place I am...banded on Friday morning. Sat. and Sunday I was really sore, I woke up this morning and am much less sore. I attribute that to taking double the amount of pain meds last night so I would get a solid sleep. You heal while you're sleeping, that coupled with a heating pad on low was heaven. I woke up feeling pretty good.

I did two days clear fluids and started full liquids yesterday, I had soupy cream of wheat, pureed Soup, two shakes and some sugar free/fat free pudding. All about 1/2 cup. Plus Water. I only got about 45 grams of Protein but I figured for the first day, that was pretty good. I had a very full feeling, my chest felt kind of tight, that's the only way I can explain it. I'm not sure what it means. This morn. I didn't eat cream of wheat til 9:30 and I was actually having hunger pains at that pt. I'm going to stay on full liquids for two weeks, that's what my nutritionist rec. but she also says to see how you feel and if I want to incorporate soft foods to go ahead.

I'm concerned about going back to work, I really don't want it out there and know my colleagues will think what I'm eating is weird. Not sure what I'm going to say yet.

One other thing that was really helpful. When I got out of surgery, my mouth was so dry--I asked my doctor if I could have a lifesaver. He said "knock yourself out", and I've had some thru out the three days, it's a small thing but in a way very gratifying.

:tongue2:

Your chest feeling tight seems totally normal. Full is a different feeling with the band. Sounds like you are doing well- good luck.

I was banded on Thursday, and feeling pretty good today. Like you, I felt much better at day 3....day 4 even better. I will return to work tomorrow. I have not told anyone. I figure a bowl of Soup will not be suspicious. I'm going with a bowl of soup, thinned out apple sauce and a Jello. While my lunch will not be high in Protein, my morning and afternoon Protein shake will add to my daily Protein intake.

Keep me posted on your progress and I'll do the same. Also, I have blog if you would like to check it out Lose4life's Blog

Thanks

LL

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
