I have struggled with my weight since my early 20s. Obesity runs in my family. Both my older brothers have had lap band, one 7 years ago and one about 9 months ago. I was against it at first but saw how well my brother did this year so I decided to see if I even qualified. Dr. Lyass felt I was a good candidate given the family history.  I also have high blood pressure and have been on meds for it for the past 4 years.  I realize I don't have as much to lose as others but I was headed in the direction of eventually having more to lose. Everytime I lose weight, I gain more back. I've done every diet imaginable--Jenny Craig, Nutri System, I'm a lifetime member of Weight Watchers, medi-fast, and phentermine to name a few. This seemed like a good option to regain my health back and have the body I'm supposed to.
