I love to go to garage sales, yard sales, estate sales.

I am in a size 22 jeans.I found jeans size 20 to 14 name brand I cannot even imagine myself in a 14. BUT I GOT THEM.They look so small. Is is really possible???Can I possibly dream to be even smaller.I have been fat all my life.

I hit the jackpot today. Now if I can just get in them. I even bought two pairs of size 7 Rocky Mountain Blues for a dollar a piece.I can dream cant I.Im dreaming big.

Surgery date Nov 30th.

ladysplenda - we were chatting the other night, how are you?

A 22 - 14 is extremely attainable. I would guess you'd see that difference inside of 100 lbs. It's going to vary by build, but for me, once I hit around a 26, about 20 lbs will be a size.

Good luck and you'll need some cute tops and shoes to go with those small jeans too! Your feet are going to get smaller!

I admire your positive attitude; the first step toward a change is visualization! Having those smaller jeans in your closet will help you to see yourself in them, and will probably help you reach your goal! I'm wearing a 22 now, and have a few 20's lined up, waiting. I have a few size 18 things, too. I hold the 18's up, and it seems like wishful thinking. I think we can do it, this time!

I've gone from a tight 22 to a 14-16 depending on the cut, in 8 months. It's definitely doable. Yard sale shopping is a smart idea while you're shedding pounds, cause you'll go from one size to the next, sometimes in a matter of weeks :)

Linda, that's so cool you thought to do that!! They'll be an inspiration to you and you can always pull them out to remind you why you're not eating like before your surgery.

How's everything going for you? Your surgery is really soon isn't it? What about your daughter, are you both going in the same time?

I have you both in my prayers, keep us updated.

(((HUGS)))

Cindy

I did the same thing. I had started saving for surgery as I was sure I would have to be a selfpay, well my insurance covered the surgery 100%. I took my money that I had saved for surgery and started doing garage sales and resale shops for smaller sizes. I was in a very snug 22/24 really needing a big 24. Today I am wearing a 16 and have room to spare. I only bought down to a 14 thinking that spring would be here and I could hit more garage sales before I lost down to a 12, well I think that I am going to have to pay, gasp, retail for some clothes before nice weather is here. (In Chicago the winters are way to bad for garage sales) I am not complaining but I wish I had bought some smaller sizes during the summer. I just went through my closet and took out all of the 20's and replaced them with 16's I will wear the 18's until they are just waaay too big then they will go on ebay too. I am going to list about 40 or so auctions in the next few weeks, my hubby got my "winter" clothes out of the storage closet for me and nothing in the bins fit so it is being listed. I can wrap my winter coat almost all the way around me twice, that is a good feeling. I am sure that the clothing will fit in no time and you will need even smaller sizes before you know it. Ebay is a great place to clean out the closets and a really good place to restock them if there are no garage sales. ~Mandy

You've heard of the "coat of many colors", well I have the "closet of many sizes". I have just the opposite problem. I have a closet full of jeans starting when I had heart surgery in a 9 and going clear up to a 20. They are just ordinary jeans that haven't gone out of style. I hold a pair up every day and the size 9 I figure would now cover one leg. All this because I took up eating instead of smoking. That wasn't the way I planned it. I just have to get myself organized for the surgery and be patient while my insurance takes it's time deciding to cover it. Love to hear how great you guys are doing.

I started in a 18 now 2months later I can wear 16. I have not bought any though. I go window shopping and try the 16's on just for self satisfaction. I have a few 16's at home and I can wear them. Very motivational to buy a smaller size for very cheap and to be able to get in them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Once I get to a 14 I will buy me a few pair of slacks for work but I am hoping to go from 18-10 so I dont want to spend alot on clothes. I actually need on a belt. LOL me, needing a belt my pants are sagging.

I'm ashamed of how many clothes I have in my wardrobe that dont fit me and still have the tags on them. I'm a sucker for jeans, I've got at least 8 pairs in sizes 14 and 16. I have had to give quite a lot of clothes away because I had them so long they were really out of fashion, lol. But I've got some divine stuff to get into and even now, I'm dressed in literally rags but I'm not buying any more 20-22's! I'm buying heaps of stuff that will fit me later.

Linda, Dreams can become reality.

I started in a size 22-20

I am now in a size 8-10, ...19 months later

Anything is possible if you want it bad enough!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
