Hi All, Mrs. Husker, me personally Ii would go with the whey. Read up on Soy, soy and radiation, soy and cancer. Soy, soy, soy. I tend to stay away from it for it can hamper my thyroid medication.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Well I did it. I swore that I would never every do it again, but I did it Tuesday. I rejoined Weight Watchers. I can't even count the number of times I have join, but it always seem to work for awhile. I have to lose weight if I want my knees to start hurting. They doctors tell me even if I have my knees replaced, that won't take care of the pain. So I have started this adventure once again. I took another leap and call the lapband office and made appointment to go see them. I can't get in till June 15th. Hope all is well with the band. I really don't think there is anything worry it. I haven't gained, but I have stopped losing. We'll see if there is anything in there or if I need a small fill. Don't think I want much as I still have lots of trouble eating most meat.

Oh well, just had to vent for a few minutes. Hope everyone is doing good. Have a great holiday weekend.

I hear ya, Carol! I re-joined WW last year (I'm a lifetime member, actually) but I just couldn't stick with it this time. I know there are bandsters who do go to the meetings and don't reveal that they have the band, which is what I did. I really didn't lose much this last time, maybe 2-3 lbs. in 3-4 months. But it's a reminder of the points. Seems like I'm always subconsciously or consciously counting points anyway due to the years and years of programming. I didn't really like the group leader and she insulted me once when I gained 1/4 lb. so I quit going when I was laid off and was no longer working near the meetings. I do think it's a good program. Let me know how you do--maybe I'll try it again this summer. Good luck at the Dr. and at WW! Sounds like you are committed. Good for you!

Wow....its so nice to see some familiar names on the board. Its been a long time since I have been on. Have had so many struggles and was ashamed to even look and see how everyone else from the Marchies were doing....I figure everyone was going to be at goal and I still have soo far to go. Up 20lbs from my lowest but still have off 78 lbs at last look. I just got back from a holiday and really need to get motivated again. This board is just what I need. It feels like seeing old friends again. I am sorry to hear that so many are struggling, but just as someone said back in March look how far we have come in 3 years!

Look forward to reconnecting!

Bev

Good to see you, Rosi! I think we all have had or are having struggles--life is like that! Don't ever be afraid of coming back--we need each other! Yes, we HAVE to remember how far we've come and continue on. Good luck with your new resolve. And congrats on 78 lbs--that's amazing!

I knew that when I was unfilled last year before treatment that I was going to gain some weight, I just didn't know that I was going to regain all of it. I know what I need to do, just doing it take energy that I don't have yet. I can put in 8+ hours a day at work, get home and throw something together some evenings for supper, then I am down for the count. I knew that it was going to take time to get back to where I was physically but I didn't think it was going to take this long. I don't let it discourage me and I know that I will never give up. I know that one day I will be back to where I was a year ago. Heck, last month I couldn't walk at a normal pace for any length of time without losing my breath, now I can, when I have the energy, do almost a mile on my treadmill going about 2 mile per hour. And most importantly, I remind myself that I am lucky to be here to bitch about it.

You lost weight before with the band (A LOT of weight!) and you can do it again. But maybe now isn't the time. You have a great attitude and it will all happen but get your strength back first and Celebrate the fact that you are here and living life to the best of your ability. Good for you!

I agree with mom lambert. You have gone through a lot this past year, so don't over do it to soon. The energy will come and then you will have time to do it right. Just remember we are here for you.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
