These posts have been so helpful to me! I thought I was all alone i this. I have 9.5cc's in an 11cc band and also have no restriction. Knowing there are others out there experiencing this is a relief, but doesn't make me any happier about our problem!

I have some pain or getting stuck when I eat too fast or don't chew enough. But as long as I follow all the the "rules" I can just keep eating and remain hungry.

If anyone has any advice that would be great!

Hello TrravelinTurnip,

I have no restriction, not even if I eat fast or take a large bite. However, I don't get really hungry after eating, I can go about 4 hours between meals before I really need to eat but I'm just really off track right now. I'm home all day recovering from rotator cuff repair, so I'm kinda bored sitting home unable to do much. I find myself eating just out of boredom. If my band was a little tighter I would be able to eat a little less that would help me. I had an 8cc fill by accident last summer and had to get an unfill, currently I have 7cc but I'm not sure if he going to be willing to me back to 8cc, I can only hope he's willing to give it a try. Talk to your Doc and see if he's willing to give u a fill, keep trying until you get the restriction you need.

I dont have restriction either and my doctor uses the floro imagining and he says I look tight

At the time of your fill, you likely are plenty tight. Adding more would likely result in swelling requiring a slight unfill.

The thing is, that restriction is ephemeral. After a fill a couple of things can happen. First, whatever swelling we did experience during the fill goes down, "loosening" things up a bit. Secondly, over time and as we lose weight, the diameter of the stomach the band is actually wrapped around can decrease in size--also loosening things up.

For the first few fills, it's pretty typical NOT to feel much of any difference. It takes a while to get where you're going--and doing it too fast backfires.

the only thing I notice is longer periods between my hunger.
That is EXACTLY what you want to notice! As you get closer to restriction, you will likely also have an increased sense of, "I can't eat another bite!", too--and combined with the longer satiety between meals, you'll be golden.

(I have the not-one-more-bite already; I'm reaching for the longer satiety; today's fill? Hope so!)

So I was supposed to be at 9 cc's in a 10 cc band. I go yesterday to the doctor's for a fill and have him pull all the saline out to make sure I don't have a leak since I have no restriction yet. He pulls out 7 cc's. So he puts in 8 cc's and when he is pulling out the needle saline goes all over my arm so I don't really know how many cc's I have right now. I just hope that not too much came gushing out. I go back in a month and hope this mishap doesn't cost me so I don't over eat and it takes 2-3 hours in between my hunger pains. Fills are getting expensive and I have been going every month since Oct. Why can't I feel the gurgling and movement of the liquids or food going down my stoma like I read about. Where is my "sweet spot"? So that is my story for today and I'm sticking to it. :w00t:

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
