I had my Pre-op appt yesterday and I have lost a stunning 16 pounds since my last weight loss visit in April. I am scheduled for May 19 and am really excited/anxious about it. I am ready, though, for this next chapter in my life.

That is great - good for you :w00t: I am getting banded on the 19th as well and just had my pre op appt 2 days ago and I so far lost 14lbs - I am so happy - hopefully by next wed I can lose about 5-10 more! Good Luck - there are a lot of May19th bandets!

Hey Sotex, that's great. I don't have a scale, so I won't find out how much I've lost during my 2-week pre-op diet until I go in for surgery on Wednesday, but it definitely feels like at least 10 lbs. Not much when you weigh in the mid-300s but it does feel good, and I'm getting pretty excited for the 19th - lot of us going in on that day!

Let's do this thing!

I wish I didn't own a scale :frown: Between pre-op diet and surgery I am down 15 lbs. Good luck everyone who is having surgery this week

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
