Hi

I'm being banded June 7 2010, Boston MA. Am happy to have found a list of others being banded at the same time. Good Luck to everyone!

I'm being banded about June 16th. I should know the date for sure by the end of this week. I'm so excited but also very scared. I'm afraid I will be the a freak anomoly that will actually gain weight. I don't really think it has totally set in that it is actually gonna happen after all this time. I haven't really told anyone about it just in case. I'm so obsessed with this site right now. I spend hours on it every day. Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. Well, I wish everyone lots of luck and looking forward to making this journey with the June banders.

June 9th here. My 29th Birthday! I'm getting really anxious. Not nervous, but anxious and just ready for it to be here already! I've been waiting months now because I set my date for summer break (I work at an elementary school) so its been a long wait for me.

I have a 4 week diet of liquid Protein Breakfast and lunch, with 4 oz lean Protein for dinner, so my diet might be different than yours, but one thing i've found to kind of take the edge off the hunger is to boil 1 cup of chicken broth, once boiling drop in 1 egg white, to make a kind of generic egg drop soup. It's under 50 calories, less than 1 gram of fat, less than 1 gram of carbohydrates, but lots of protein, and fills me up for the night

You will do great. The first two days are very hard... but stick through it. The 3-4 day will be easier and by then youre almost there. I am on a 2 week liquid diet. Today is day 6 for me. I am super excited to know that I am halfway through. Keep a positive mind.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
