I had a fill last Tuesday...1 cc in a 14cc band which has brought me up to 7 cc's. As of right now it seems like I can only eat a few bites of food and I am full. While I think this is a good thing, I am just wondering if the meals are too small. About the only thing I can eat with no problems is 1 cup of oatmeal. Other than that, any kind of meat gives me discomfort. Sometimes I feel like I am burping but then this slimy stuff comes up! Sorry if that's TMI...

This is only my second fill so I am still not sure what restriction feels like. Could someone help me on this?? I want to be able to eat a "reasonable amount of food". Not quite sure what this is. If this is restriction then maybe I can adjust to it.

Help!

What you experienced is known as sliming. It happens from time to time. If your fill was real recent I would suggest you wait it out as swelling occurs after a fill. However, since your still having a hard time keeping much down after a week, I think you may need a slight unfill. I would talk to your doctor about it. Best wishes!

Sometimes it,s due to swelling of the band.maybe you need to go for liquids.my swelling after a fill sometime takes a week.an when i tried solids it hurt going down.my doctor puts me on liquids, first day, soft, then regular.hope you feel better.i also slime.people may not agree with me but thats a part of being band.the sliming

the pbing

the throwing up.eventually it will happen at one point while we have the banded.

At this point, it is normal to feel very tight after a fill. You may not have felt it with your previous fills because you weren't at full restriction yet. After you get stuck, go back to liquids for 12 hours then mushies, then gradually go to real food. Very small bites chewed very well will help. You will loosen up in a few weeks and be able to eat more. Be sure to concentrate on Protein in all of the stages. You should be able to eat real food after you heal. If you cannot get it so you can eat real food, you may need a very slight unfill. I worried about being too tight after my last fill for a while. I stuck it out though, and I now feel like it is just right. I had to go back to liquids a few times to get past it, but now it is perfect... Hugs!!!!

I agree with everyone who posted before me. Go back to liquids for awhile, then to mushies and slowly (really small bites) move to solids. You are too tight when you can't keep liquids down (which doesn't sound like the case). Good luck!

ITA w/all of this. I thought I might be a little too tight after my last fill, but then it loosened up, then it tightened up, then it loosened up again. The most important thing for me, though, is I'm not hungry. So, even though sometimes I am too tight w/this fill, I'm not hungry so I really don't mind going back to liquids the few times it has gotten too tight. Most of the time now, though, it feels just right. I make a serving for myself that looks too small and it ends up being just right. And, I'm not sliming or PBing lately now that I've become more careful about chewing and the texture of foods.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
