Tattoos after being banded?

Recommended Posts

To anyone that has lost weight and had tattoos before hand:

What do your tattoos look like now? Worse, better, totally ruined, the same?

I dont have any, but I've got two banded friends that do.

One had her tattoos in places that werent too badly affected, upper breast, shoulder blade and ankle.

The other had one on her lower back. Its now on her ass.

I dont mean to be smart about it, but it really has dropped, and its deformed. Its just one of those things. Really, to have that happen to a tattoo is I guess as heartbreaking as to imagine yourself thin and end up saggy, baggy and droopy. Its one of those things you have to face if and when it happens.

I have 20 tattoos. I was recently tattooed on the 20th of April and still going. The only one I am worried about is the 4 on my hips. Although I was 250lbs when I got them done and then lost weight and they looked fine when I was 120 lbs. THey still look fine at 188 lbs. What I am worried about is that I had a baby 2 years ago which caused my weight gain . So I have like a little preggo pouch/flap close to my pelvic area and if it doesnt spring back when I lose the weight then I will have to have them removed.. Which is not an option. But all of my other tattoos look great.

I have tons of tattoos some I got before and some I got after my surgery.

The tattoo I worried about the most was one on my hip. I got it when I was smaller and then gained over 80 pounds. Now after my surgery and some Lipo it still looks amazing ( you can see photos on my blog). Not one of my tattoos has changed because of losing/gaining weight etc.

I have 12 tats and they all are doing fine. I learned a long time ago to place them in places that don't sag when gravity takes it's toll, lesson learned when I was young I had a unicorn put on my chest as as I got older and the girls went due south it started looking like a giraffe with a horn in his head. Thanks to a breast lift(prior to band) he's back to being a unicorn. So I think it just depends where you put them. My sons a tatoo artist so it's really hard not to go crazy with them. But so far so good, I've only had him do 1 for me. The rest I've had a long long time.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
