Excercise Encouragement!!!

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I was banded March 31st and have been loving my new life. I have lots of energy and am walking anywhere from 1 - 3 miles per day. I am also about to head back to the health club as I am finally feeling fully healed because I am IN LOVE with aqua fit! However like most people I know there are those days where my lazy bones take over after a 10 hour work day and I feel the need to bail out. So I decided to start this thread as an encouragement to myself and others out there who are trying to get into a fat burning - positive - moving forward work out mode.

So if you are having an off day and need a cheering section or having a great day and want to cheer someone on - let me know here!!! Thank you to all you veteran bandsters for moving us forward!!!

Good for you, Melissa! It sounds like you are doing really well. I understand about having a hard time at the end of a long day-- it's like my butt and the couch are magnetic!!

I found that signing up for a class (like your aquafit) really motivated me to do it-- especially if it was a really lively group of people.

Is aqua fit a Water exercise class? Do you like it? What kind of stuff do you do?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
