Feel like I blew it today

Recommended Posts

I was wanting to try really hard to be good today with this being the first holiday since being banded. So this is what I ate...

Breakfast - 2 Hard boiled eggs

lunch - sm. spoonful of potoato salad, sm. spoonful of potoatoes au gratin, sm. spoonful of baked Beans (did not finish them, and about 1/2 cup of smoked pulled pork no sauce) and when I say a small spoonful I mean maybe 1 Tblsp.

Then here is where I went wrong. I had a piece of cherry cheesecake about 4 hours after lunch.

My plan for dinner is 1/2 cup of cottage cheese and 1/2 cup bean and bacon Soup.< /p>

Oh and all I have drank today has been Water.< /p>

So be honest how bad was I? I have not had a fill yet so there is not much restriction and I never really felt stuffed or even close to full just satisfied.

You are okay, just stay focused. I have cheated but my portions are so small. I am on solids at this time, so I have to be carefull and I do not have a fill.

You really should read your own post. Would you have eaten this little a few months ago? Just because you ate a piece of Cheesecake doesn't mean you blew anything. It should not become a regular habit but it's really nothing to get worked up about. Life isn't always perfect and neither are we. I am glad you are conscious of your choices but you really are being too hard on yourself.

I completely agree with the post above. It's one slice of cheesecake. The band is meant to allow us to still enjoy certain things in moderation. I think as long as you don't make it a big habit, you're fine. :smile2:

I had a tiny sliver of cake today. TINY sliver. I felt guilty for a bit but then realized that it was a SUPER tiny slice. (We're talking 4-5 small baby-spoon bites) Before, I would have had a nice, big slice and a scoop of ice cream. It's baby steps, you know?

Just put the Protein first, which it sounds like you did. I always try to do that, too. And, I normally skip dessert these days, when normally, that would have been the first thing I went for.

Don't beat yourself up! :(

Thank you all. I feel better now and you are right. The band is a tool and there is nothing written in stone saying I can't have these things sometimes just not every day.

I had some chocolate candy this weekend but never went over 1400 calories total per day. Like Teacher07 said, I would have eaten much more than that before being banded. It was a holiday, and I don't plan on doing it again for a good while. We need a little flexibility now and then.

Girl - Listen to the ladies posting here! We could've all gone out as a group prior to the procedure and probably eaten more than a college football team! What you ate was closer to what someone without weight issues might eat on any given day. Don't beat yourself up for being human!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
