Hi all,

I am waiting to have my surgery and have a lot of questions! This one is for those who have been banded for some time.

I have really bad cellulite on my legs and I'm wondering if I lose a significant amount with the lap band will that go away, or will I still have pockets on my legs? REALLY wanting this stuff to be gone!

You don't have the choice I need.

It has gotten less but it is still there.

I am about 7 lbs from my goal but the cellulite is still there and noticable. I doubt that it will totally go away on my legs.

Your choices are 1)it is still there, 2)it is going or 3)it is gone.

I think it has gotten worse for me. my thighs look like cottage cheese lol. The skin on my thighs have gotten loose so i think it makes them look worse.

I still have it, I'm sorry to say. I'm not BADLY afflicted with cellulite, but my family does run to loosish thighs!

I have much less than I had and its restricted to just below the buttocks, and on the buttocks. I have an awful ass, plain and simple, but the afflicted area is now fairly small, I can definitely wear running shorts and such.

Its why I'm still confident to wear a bikini and such at 42. I mean, nothing I wear bathing suit wise is going to hide my upper thighs! So I just let it all hang out and dont worry about it. I have much better shape and tone than I used to and than almost anyone I know my age who's had 3 babies, so I feel very blessed.

for a while though, I think it actually was WORSE. Then it improved.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
