I messed, up :O(

Recommended Posts

I haven't been here in a long time, I was doing so good lost almost 100lbs and then life changes caused me so much stress I began to eat stuff I shouldn't, in doing so I've gained 30lbs back :wink2: I'm so disappointed with myself, all the hard work and I just messed up. So I went and got my band tightened and I'm hoping I can do what I need to do and get back on track. My question is has anyone else ever did this? is it normal to slip back into bad habits? Is there any Snacks that are good but are not fattening for you? I just want to get back on track and do whats right, so if you all have any thing that will help let me no, I'm so ashamed. Bobbie

Don't be ashamed! Of course this happends to a lot of people! Like you said you just have to get back in the game. you had your "fun" NOW STOP! :-) I've been there myself. Lost 40 lbs then just stopped losing for about 8 months. It was my own fault. I ate all the easy bad food, chocolate chips ect. I thought I had no more fight left in me but then something just clicked again. I'm now back in the game & losing! :-) Helps me to weigh & measure food & count cals. I use a site called Daily plate. You enter in your food & it counts cals. If you need help contact me. GOOD LUCK hun!

:wink2: Thank you both, I'm really trying not to snack, but it's really hard. I can't go back to living the way I was, I could hardly get around, thank you for answering my post. Hugs Bobbie:thumbup:

I have a slightly different approach to snacking. If I am feeling indulgent then I will eat the kind of food I know I can get down easily, but I find that there is no "hold" imposed upon my ability to eat these foods, so if I have my snacking head on and I doubt the ability of my will power to end the snack attack at a sensible point then I will eat a tiny amount of a food I know I can't eat (e.g. half a slice of bread - or less, 6 McDonalds fries, a 1cm cube of vegan cheese, 1 or 2 carrot sticks, 1 tablespoonful of rice or rice salad/pasta salad, etc). These foods are all self limiting with the band - or at least they are for me - so I find that they really fill me up and I am quite literally unable to overindulge. If I am tempted to reach for something else afterwards then I have a cup of tea on top, which will soon be very uncomfortable and demotivates the urge to eat.

The alternative is that I will just keep on returning to the snack options and I will eat far too much.

This works for me.

I'm still feeling like I'm hungry so I might have to go have my band tighten 1/2 more of Saline, they said to try this out and so I'll see what happens, I want to feel full like I use to, at first I always felt full, now it seems like I feel the need to get, but I also think it's partly because of stress, there is way to much stress in this house.

Our daughter moved home and she is driving me nuts, I love her dearly but we moved here to retire and not become her babysitter all the time. Anyway I just need to learn how to deal with this stress and not use it as a way to eat.

I thank you all for your tips, it's helping to see that I'm not alone with this. Hugs Bobbie:smile2:

I'm in the same boat. I lost 100 then had a slippage and during the unfill period managed to gain back 20lbs. I've just had my second fill and am working on being back on the wagon. In my endeavors to curb my snacking habits I have turned to chewing gum. I find if I can just chew a piece of gum while sipping some liquid this satisfies by desire to have something in my mouth while the drinking satisfies the feel of putting something in my tummy.

Also someone mentioned to me the 5 day pouch diet to help jumpstart being a "loser" again and I'm going to try that as well.

Thanks LeighaMason for that wonderful list of Snacks.

Heart thanks a lot for your idea, I'll get some gum when I go to town next, I'm happy to hear that your doing well, I've been doing really better, so I hope I start losing weight again. Hugs Bobbie

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
