Fourth fill and got 2cc's!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

So, my weight loss has been VERY slow and I've been working my tushy off trying to get rid of this weight. Last fill, I finally felt some restriction and then it went away after about 2wks. Then, I started to gain. :( The doctor asked if I was getting anything stuck and I told him no and that I want to get to the point where there are certain things that I cannot eat.... I think that helped because he put a whole 2cc in my band....for a total of 8 cc in a 9cc band. I'm a lil nervous because what if this doesn't work and I only have 1 more cc to be full!?!?!?! Anyone else with similar experiences? Words of encouragement appreciated!!! I REALLY want this to work!!!

It was just about my fourth fill when they poured 4cc's into me. Once things settled down, it was a magical moment. I rode that fill for about 8 months. I am at about 11 cc's in a 14 cc band. Now when I get fills, they are just little, tiny tweaks. Hang in there... Everything will work out just as it should!

Keep up the hard work!

I felt restriction at 4.5 cc and asked for a very small fill. They gave me 1.5 cc and I was totally closed off for a night. The next day, they unfilled me and I had to start all over with the fills.

Since then, I feel restriction for about 1 week after each fill, then it goes away and I get another fill - was getting a fill every 2 weeks and it was the same story every time. I was up to 8cc in a 10cc band. The doc and I started talking. I was resistant to removing all the fill since I knew it couldn't all be put back at once. Apparently my stomach is sensitive to large fills. At my last fill, I told him to go ahead and remove it - low and behold, there were only 3 ccs in there. He put the 3cc back and added an additional 1.5 cc. I was good for one week, now nothing again. I go back to the doc on Monday and he will remove the Fluid and see what's left. If it's less than 4.5, I get to go for testing. He said it could either be a leak (most likely), a kink in the tube, or a slipped band. yippee :smile2:

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
