I was banded on Feb 4th and was just trying to find someone else that was banded on or about the same day to keep tabs on each other and compare progress and experiences!

I had my surgery on Feb 2. I'm on full liquids for for another week and half. These are going good, just feeling very tired, I was told on Tuesday at my post op that I need to get more Protein and calaries in, I'm not taking enough in. how about you?

Wow still on liquids! I have been on soft foods for a week and tomorrow I start any kind of food I want. How much have you lost since getting banded? I am tired too. I havent been great at taking my Vitamin tho so I am wondering if thats why added to the lower calories.

I have lost a a total of 38 ibs, so far. Yes my Dr keeps his patients on liquids for a while he wants to make sure that you are healed and the swelling goes down too.

I was banded on Feb 3rd. I just started soft foods yesterday. I am back to work and starting to feel like myself again. All in all, I'm glad I had the surgery. I have already seen changes in my body, so I am encouraged.

I am going to start walking 20 minutes a day starting this weekend. have you started exercising yet?

I was banded on Feb 4th. I just started regular foods today after a week of mushies. So far so good with chicken, but then again there is no restriction.

I was banded on February 3rd. I would love to keep in touch with all of you - I definitely need the support. I actually feel great and have for the last week. When I saw my doctor last week he said that I could start eating solid food as I tolerate it. Well, I have been able to eat pretty much anything - certainly not as much as before the band but too much.

Tweety, I am assuming your 38 pound loss is including your pre op diet?

Bella, I am going to start exercising this weekend. I start back up with my trainer in a few weeks so I need to get back into a little better shape first. I was in a weight loss plan with her (thru my insurance) before the surgery.

Stacey, You said there is no restriction. Do you mean you feel no restriction or the band is empty? I haven’t had a fill yet but I really do feel restriction. So just wondering exactly what you meant.

Momran, welcome it’s nice to have you!

I think its so interesting how everyone’s experiences are so different!

I was banded Feb 3. Right now I'm a little disappointed because I can pretty much eat whatever I want. I'm getting my first fill next week, and hoping to really get started losing weight. How is everyone else doing?

Hi,

I was also banded on February 4th. I am still on full liquids and will be till this Thursday the 25th. My doctor has a 21 day post op liquid diet then solid food. I'm doing pretty well, I've kept really hydrated so no tiredness. Just soreness which is close to being gone now.

Mammasita8, I feel the same way in that I can eat whatever I want for the most part. bread gives me a little more trouble than food but I do feel restriction. I was expecting it to be like this tho until the first fill.

Vayron,

Hey I am from Washington too. Where were you banded? I was banded at Northwest Weight Loss Surgery in Everett. I had the SILS (Single Incision LapBand Surgery) procedure so I just have the one incision and its healing pretty good. A little sore still but getting better!

It’s nice to hear from both of you!

holliellen190 – Wow Everett is just up the road. I'm in Bothell. I was banded in Mexico at the Obesity Control Center by Dr.Ortiz. I had five incisions but only one was large the rest really small. The rest didn’t even hurt just the one larger one and it wasn’t even all that big. Left a heck of a bruise though. Today is the first day I’ve been able to bend over without it hurting. Took forever to put my left sock on in the morning the last couple of weeks. I have to admit other than that I’ve been feeling really great.

Tweety39 – I can’t wait for something new either. It’s kinda been that way the last couple of weeks. When I got back home I was able to have beef broth and I swear it was the best thing I had ever tasted. When I added Tomato Soup same thing happened. My first real meal will probably be scrambled eggs and a little piece of cheese. Hardly exciting but I’m sure it will taste great! Weird I have never thought about a meal as much as I have the first solid food one I will have Thursday.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
