Is it possible to accidently move my port

Recommended Posts

My doctor said that he had attached my port so it won't move. Last night i was doing a yoga stretch and as i twisted my lefts to the right and my head and arms to the left...i felt something weird. I followed by doing set ups and i felt my port. I haven't felt m port in 2 months (i am 3.5 post op). So it is possible that i messed something up with that stretch?

I have a doctor's appoitment this wednesday, but wanted to run it by you guys.

Thanks!

Stacy

Sometimes my port moves a little. I can feel it and if my pants are tight around my waist and i move a certain way I feel a little pop. Is that what you felt? I have talked to my doctor about this and he said it was fine, there just isnt as much fat around my port so it moves a little but the stitches are fine.

Yep! thats exactly how it felt. and afterwards I was just more aware of it. I don't think its because I was paranoid because everytime I turned my body i felt let as i did when i first got out of the hospital. Not the pain but just i feel it there pushing.

I am ok as of this morning so I will see how it goes.

thanks!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
