WOW! You started mushies so soon! I bet you are pleased! I have another week yet before I do, but I really don't mind the liquid diet at all.

The most important thing, they tell me, is to avoid vomiting, or lifting anything heavy. I am dying to get to the gym and do some weight work, but the doc says not yet, I should not do anything that involves the core muscles.

You will feel better and better as each day goes by...and as you fold up and give away those "fat clothes", lolol. Good luck! Teeli:thumbup:

Hello, I have been absent from this forum for a while, and just now found your post majj. I too want to welcome you and to let you know that you are already doing great!

There are a lot of nice, caring people here and they are ready and willing to help you out. I have learned so much from all the posts and have also gotten a lot of encouragement.

So welcome aboard! You are on your way to a better life. I know how good it feels to have my back, knees, hips, and feet free of 51 pounds they were carrying around!!!

Thanks Diana...I am doing well , feel great and if I wasn`t still a little sore I wouldn`t even know I had been fitted with a band...

At the moment I am sure the band is not doing a thing its my will power and determination that is keeping me sticking to the dietitians menue (plus I don`t want to put any strain on my tummy , I want the stitches to heal up and have no problems)...

I hope after I have a fill (6 weeks) I can feel the band helping me , because if I could have done this myself on just will power I would have , many years ago ..I need this band to Help... :smile2:

Have a Good weekend all ...

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
