Easier to eat when relaxed?

Recommended Posts

Im am wondering if anyone else has this problem, my previous post got me some good advice on possibly needing a slight unfill, however I am question that at this point -

During the week, lunch break at work and dinner as soon as i get home dont go down well at all.. i end up stuck, pbing, hurting,, feeling horrible.. but i am off on saturdays and sunday, and home - I was able to eat a small sandwich on super duper thin bread toasted and had NO problem!!!

I am wondering if going out to eat and eating at work dont work work for me because I am stressed or rushed or self conscious.

It seems that if i have dinner 2-3 hours after getting home from work i am relaxed, can eat slower take my time and have no problem - fill after about 1/ cup of food ....

I found today - after a huge fight with DH that getting upset and worked up causes me great discomfort in the center of my chest and where the band is....

Anyone else notice this happening ?

I call my band my "stress ometer". When I am stressed to the max my band tightens. I am unfilled now. Maintaining my goal weight and will not get a fill until I feel my stress level will reduce.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
