slippage questions

Recommended Posts

I found that my band had slipped yesterday. I had most of my Fluid removed. My band slipped Monday so it was taken care of quickly.

Today I feel 99% better but have occasional pain in my stomach area. I suspect that it is my stomach moving back into position.

The tech that did my fill seemed to think that my stomach would return to normal. It was already starting to move back while I was under fluro. How often is this not the case?

Finally how do you stay good with almost no restriction?

thanks!

Sorry to hear your band slipped but glad to hear it is going back in place. Monday I called my doctors office and said I was on my way and I had to be seen. I didn't care if I had to wait all day to see my doctor. I knew something was wrong because I couldn't even keep a sip of Water down. I had been getting sick for about five days and it just got worse. To make a long story short did a xray and it showed my band slipped. My doctor took all of my Fluid out of my band and have to go back in a week to see if it went back in place. I'm praying it does cause I paid out of pocket and don't have insurance. So do u know if yours went back in place? My doctor told me that 90% of people this happens to fixes it self. I can only hope.....

Irini1 you might want to check with your doctor about eating. I am on a luqid diet for a couple of weeks. I would hate for it to get worse for you.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
