Even I think this is TMI but didn't know who else to ask

And I don't think its all that appropriate for the fitness and exercise forum, so here goes...

I do spin class ALOT. Here's the problem. My inner labia are HUGE and become very annoyed by the bike... but NOTHING has ever given me the same exercise high as spin, so I refuse to quit. Any ladies out there spin or bike a lot and have this issue? Any suggestions about how to deal with it?

Thanks, and thanks for putting up a little TMI about my anatomy.

I can't answer the ladies part of the question, but If I did not already have a vasectomy spin class would have done it.

1. I went to a bike shop and found a "scuba suit" seat cover that I take to class and I lay a small folded towel over seat.

2. Also, I have found that if I just stand up during the Up-down sprints it dramatically reduces the bouncing in and out of the saddle which is hard to handle and often lands you in uncomfortable positions.

3. Do you use bike shoes? I found they help with balance and body control to reduce hitting the saddle to hard.

I hope that helps.

Thanks so much! I might try the scuba seat thing out. Funds are a little low though, which is why I haven't gotten myself some bike shoes yet. Been spinning for a year now, you would think I had gotten them already. I do love spin though... it really is the best. I am up to four or five days a week, with other workouts mixed in. Very very very cool I think.

ooh.. i know what you are talking about.. the pain.. i just shut it out( and yes i love spin too) i dont think i am 'huge' in that respect but bouncing up and down on the bike does hurt the girl bits a tad sometimes. extra padding on the seat is a great idea. ive done it sometimes - you have to make sure its sits tight on the seat. you dont want it rolling to one side.

I don' have the same problem, but I do find it becoming very uncomfortable the longer I am on it. I have tried pillows, towels, and even a blanket because the seat is uncmfortable (youd think by now id just go out and buy a more comfortable seat or something but yea I'm lazy lol) Have you maybe tried putting on a thick sanitary pad on before you start spinning? That might help some!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
