I just wanted to introduce myself---it's my first time here and I am amazed (and delighted) to see this forum exists. Already I've gotten good information. I have not been banded but am very seriously considering it. I am looking forward to reading all of your posts and hopefully I'll find answers to some of my questions even before asking them. I've already seen jerryb's posts...If there are any others here who are also from Michigan who can share info I'd appreciate it---thanks! One thing I can say already is that you all give me courage...!

Hi. I'm also a post-op bandster from Michigan. What kind of info would you like to know?

Have you decided on a surgeon yet? I went with Port Huron, and even though they always seem to be so busy with all the new patients they're getting, I am very happy with my choice. :(

Oh, and if you haven't already joined, you might be interested in the mailing list for MI bandsters: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Eastside_Bandsters_MI/

Hi Care from another newbie just wanted to say welcome. :(

And good luck with the research, appts and decision in getting the band. I've only just begun the journey having been banded 6 weeks ago. Gosh doesn't seem that long.

Anyway best of luck and you've certainly come across a fantastic wealth of advice, support and information!

Hi, I'm a Post op from Michigan! I had my surgery on June 24th at Port Huron. Dr. Boutt did my surgery and he was great and so was the hospital staff. I had my first appt with Dietician post op 4 weeks and was down 19 lbs, I haven't weighed since then because the scales mess with my mind and I would like to wait until my visit with the Doc on the 19th of Aug. Hopefully I will be down even more. nancy:D

I also had my band done by Dr. Boutt. I have NEVER had a more pleasant hospital experience as I did at Port Huron Hospital. Not only the surgeons, but the pre-op staff, post-op staff, nurses, transporters...EVERYONE was exceptionally nice and comforting. Dr. Boutt's number is 810-989-3328 if you want to call and find out when the next seminar is. That's the first step. Good Luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
