Ive had a horrendous year support needed badly!!!!

Recommended Posts

I was first banded in feb '08 weighing 202kg (444 pounds) by feb '09 I had lost 50kg (110 pounds). On the 16th of feb I was assaulted at work so badly she dislodged my band. On the 24th of March '09 I had surgery to adjust the slippage. Since then I have had Post traumatic stress and chronic depression. My wrist was broken in the Assault and I still cannot use my dominant hand properly, My beloved grandfather died, I broke my ankle and spent 4 months in a wheelchair and it is still very sore now. On the 16th of november my nan passed away (mum loses both parents within 6 months) and here I am packing on the kgs.

I am feeling better in myself now and taking a huge breath I know I am ready to finally look after myself instead of putting everyone else first and me losing out big time. I had a fill this morning. Im about .1ml off my original sweet spot. I hopped on the scales and yes i now weigh 185kg (404 pounds) and I am devastated but at ease that I didn't put all the weight back on. I need alot of support as my head still isnt right with the psych stuff and it would be easy to fall off this lapband wagon again. I am determined to succeed though and feel as wonderful as i did pre the assault.

cheers

Ky :rolleyes2:

You have indeed had a horrendous year, and yet you survived it and sound stronger for it. You can do this. You can do anything you put your mind to. You didn't let any of this break you. Think about that. It sounds as if you are already making positive steps in the right direction! Start journaling your food intake so you can see exactly how much you are eating each day and check your Protein intake to see if you need to make any adjustments. If exercise is painful because of your foot injury, try to see if you can participate in Water aerobics or just walk in the Water. You have an excellent start to your weightloss, keep it up!

Ky -- you are so strong to be able to stand up to so much. God Bless You as you start back upward and forward to get to where you know you want to be -- Healthy. Just a step at a time. Getting your Water in each day, some kind of exercise, writing down your foods even if you just track the major things, but start holding yourself accountable because like you, I have had bad times but I realized in the end after regaining 100 lbs two other times after losing it, that this time, every bite I put in my mouth doesn't hurt the person who hurt me, it just hurts me for my long term goal to get healthy.

Take care!

I am so sorry for your loss. I didn't go through as much as you did but I loss both grandparents last year too. My grandmother in March and grandfather in August. I know it's very hard but you gotta keep pushing your self because when it's all said and done it's your health that is in jeopardy. I say take your time and push your self a little further each day you can do it! Keep intouch if you need someone to talk to. Keep in mind God doesn't give us any more than we can handle sometimes we wonder why I think it's a test of our faith in him. I'm rooting for you, you can do it!!!!!;)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
