2010 Shamrocks Weight Challenge

Recommended Posts

Hi candy. Sure come on in and join our weight accountability thread. When did you have surgery? I have found staying in touch with the March 2008 bandsters a real help to me. Also there is a +100 lbs to lose thread where all those folks understand what it is like to have to lose more than 100 lbs and even more than 200 lbs -- I have a total of 200 I am trying to lose.

Stay in touch and you'll get there a day at a time.

My best advice is use www.mydailyplate.com and start writing down for the next 2 weeks everything you eat. Hold yourself accountable. Don't show it to anyone else. Remember that you have to burn more calories than what you eat. If you eat 2000 calories you need to burn 3000 calories and I can tell you I find it hard to burn 2700 calories in a day now that I weigh less.

Get exercise every day. Some kind - walking, free weights, or whatever you can fit in. If you have a gym and can commit to 30-45 min of Cardio at least 4-5 times a week that should help alot.

I had a solid drop to hit my -133 lbs mark and then have bounced up and down a bit this week. Going to buckle down and make sure that 221 number sticks and keep going down from there!

Celebrated my 2 year bandiversary this past week.

Was down to 139 yesterday morning back up to 140 this morning, I guess I should have left the cake alone. Oh well will keep working at it.

I'm bouncing up right now and I think it is due to the amount of heavy yard work so maybe my sore muscles are retaining some Water weight? I really haven't been eating badly so that is all I can figure. Just keep working it one day at a time. Still on track for my BR surgery April 22. I'm trying to get as much exercise and yard work in before that because I know I'm going to be limited for most of May and maybe into June for any major lifting stuff.

I haven't posted to this accountability thread in a while but I do want to get on track and hold myself accountable to keep going downward now that I am past my BR surgery. I am so hoping that as the summer comes, I can get the level of activity I hope the BR will let me have, and the pounds will go down a little more quickly.

I've been on this same set of numbers for what feels like forever and it is definitely my own fault - splurged on carbs and sugary things while I was recovering from surgery since my sister was here and loves all those things too. Back on track this week pretty well now that I am back to a normal working schedule.

Feels good to see progress! It does seem like my body gives up a couple pounds, then bounces up and down around that number for awhile then lets me lose another lb or two! Just glad to be moving on down! I had hoped to lose 40 lbs in 2010 and that would be about 20 lbs in 6 months ending June 30 so I gotta get to 212 to make that goal according this this tracker thread.

Sounds like great progress! After July 4th I want to get filled again. I am on a backslide of a few pounds and want to lose 30lbs before I go on a cruise in November! Great to hear your posts!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
