Getting in the Game

Recommended Posts

My date is set for February 26th. I cannot wait to get started on the road to thin. My goal is to go from 295 to 160. Note going to be easy, but I will follow the plan and exercise everyday.

I have made it through 3 days of liquids and exercise. I cannot believe the amount of energy I have to make this work. February 26th is right around the corner and I am staying super busy. Since I started tracking my food on www.Myfooddiary.com 48 days ago I have lost 17.5 lbs.

I did it!! Last Friday I had by procedure and got through it with flying colors. I am amazed at how I already feel better. I am finding it difficult to eat and drink without the gas. I strongly recommend Gas-X strips which are saving me. My doctor and the staff at Day One Health in Chicago were amazing.

Go for it, you will wonder why you didn't do it earlier ! I had surgery on Dec 1, 2009. and lost 60 lbs so far. I feel so much better already even though I still have a long way to go.. Congrats on making the right decision !

Thanks for the support. I had my first follow up yesterday which was 9 days after surgery. I started on mushy foods last night. Who new that 2 scrambled eggs could be a banquet. I have my first adjustment on April 2nd. Since my very first visit to the doctor through today I have lost 34.5lb. Only 100 more to go.

I get my first fill on April 2nd. I am hardly eating today and tracking everything. Exercise has been about 30 minutes on the treadmill a day and increasing. I have lost a total of 42 lbs since my first weigh in at the doctors office. I brought 9 bags of my fat clothes to GoodWill and feel awesome. I am wearing clothing I havent been able to wear in 2 years.

On the down side I have managed to have 2 really great episodes of the slimes. Learning what I can and cannot eat has really been a interesting experience. I find that I have the most trouble on the weekends when I have too much free time. I can't wait until spring finally gets hear for good so I can golf. Still Smilin in Illiniois.

Great feeling, isn't it?

If you've been heavy for a LONG time, it can be quite the shock when you are trying clothes on, and getting on rides at the amusement park.

A whole new world....a BETTER one....!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
