  1. Wow - major sticking episode! Chicken - puree only from now on!

  2. Well I did some experimenting today. I tried some baby food stage 2 chicken and some peas and applesauce. Well let me tell you - now I know why babies spit that shi_ out! ha ha! Tastes gross. So I am going back to my pureed tuna with a bit of fat free miracle whip. And I will pureed my own veg. and use my own no sugar added applesauce for now on. I did have a scrambled egg this am for breakfast and I did not chew it enough and I got some very painful spasms that were not pleasan...

  3. Gooood Tuesday Morning! ok now that I've began to add some texture into my liquids. I can't wait until I can actually "Chew" something! My husband snacking right in front of me has been hard, just the smell of the food, and not being able to have any of it. :)I'm all good though, nothing but head games!! :) Have A Fantabulous day!!

  6. Accidentally ate a piece of farfalle while making dinner. Chewed really good and it went down fine, but a little worried that's the second time I've popped food into my "liquids only" mouth.

  7. I just realized I can eat some solid foods. I am starting at the gym today. Starting with the stationary bike and walking track. Three weeks post op.

I had my band place in on 9/12 and today is exactly 2 weeks I am on muchie foods and still feel pain when I Bend down so far from 203 I am down to 190.5 dont know if it is enough but i dont feel hunger just some cravings and get full fast with pain.. I havent had 1 fill in yet my Dr said she doesnt beleive in fill in day of banding :( have an appointment with her on OCt maybe then she could give me a fill ..

  10. hello i am 5 weeks post op and doing good i went to get my first fill and it didnt happen they said i was doing good and not getting hungry just after a few bites of food so i am doing good and eating good foods and not testing my band i know whats not good to eat so i stick with that. i am going to the gym about four day a week and feeling good

  12. Starting my liquids Wednesday and no food. Surgery in 40 hours.

  13. Just got back from having my first fill. It really was quick and painless! I'm going to be on liquids today and tomorrow, then soft food, then back to regular food. I hope I survive! Lol

  14. 4th day after surgery, Not a good Idea to be watching I love Lucy, because everytime I crack up, my stomach hurts "ouch", Also I am only on fluids, why so much diarrhea if I am not eating food? I know sorry TMI!!

  15. I am sorry to hear about the problems you are having at home. I am doing pretty well. I have driven a couple of times to go to the store. I am not taking the pain meds. They knock me out and then I am wide awake in an hour. Anyway, I am sure your appetite will pick up. I have had a couple of times where I was cooking for my hubby and I took a bite of his food before I gave it to him. Yum! Nothing too bad, just some scrambled eggs and one time some refried beans. I should be able to eat those soon anyway. Hope you feel better soon....Kathy

    do you have to wait because of insurance requirements? How many pre-op support meetings are they requiring you to do? Where are you going for them?

    It's still really novel but I like it so far. Most people seem to get back on their feet faster than I did but I am also older and had a stricter liquid phase. Today was my first day adding in food (day 15) and it is also a stricter diet than what I see on the message board. I started taking 2 Optifast like drinks a day and just 2 tablespoons of egg or soft cheese 3 times a day at mealtimes. I'm supose to build to 6-8 tablespoons a meal and expand on the foods beginning with proteins and then adding in veggies. I know this sounds terrible but actually I don't mind it. I think I'm OK with it for 3 reasons. First, because I did do Optifast for 12 weeks a long time ago---this doesn't seem as hard compared to that. 2nd--the band is REALLY helping with it. So far I don't have any cravings. I did feel hunger on the 2 weeks of clear liquids (250 calories a day!) but because of my Optifast memories --I was able to hold on. The 3rd thing that makes this easier for me (so far!) is that I found out yesterday that I lost 11 lbs in those 2 weeks of clear liquid. My MD told me yesterday that I can keep this as low carb and as low calorie as I want so I have elected to be REALLY strict. I'm hoping to lose at least another 45 lbs by Sept. That will be tough.

  17. this is a good morning i got up and warmed up my chicken broth and sip on that and mix up my protien water . now i will say the special k water is working i sip on that all day and i stay full i had a good night. this is day three and i went from 259 preop to 249 postop as of to today so i feell a little good about that. to me its a mine thing because you really have to foucus on other things besides food in order to get through this stage i must say its a good morning.

  19. As many genres as I have played out as a DJ and as many genres I have heard rise and fall over the years...the ultimate truth is, it all comes back to house music. Pure and simple baby. House your body.

  20. At Block Party/BBQ yesteday There was food all around me plus cakes/cookies and alcohol. I had my protein shakes, water, crystal light and broth that I packed. I survived it from 4-11p

  21. We aren't in a battle against food, we are in a battle against ourselves. Think of your band as the angel and the devil on your shoulders (or in your stomach)... In the end it's our choice as to how we treat our bodies.

  22. 2 week pre-op diet starts today :) Did a purge of all the crap food still in my house. Then took a bunch of before pictures in various outfits. I finally feel like this process has started :)

  24. So my stomach feels better just went swimming. Life is always better when I can get in the water. Time to get dressed and get food for mothers day dinner for Scotts mom.

  25. Trying to pay close attention to the foods I eat, so that I can prepare for when I have surgery. Not easy since I'm always hungery.
