  1. Yes Judy! Alaska was awesome! At first I was excited to go and then lost some of my enthusiasm. Then when we reached Seattle WA, I got excited again, it was like nothing I had ever imagined!!! The only challenge I had WAS with eating! I could not eat anything hardly, but actually gained 4 lbs on the trip! When Cortizone is released into our bodies from stress sometimes, our stomachs swell, thus tightening the band around it, I think I had a too tight fill also just before I went on the trip, so I threw up a lot, when throwing up, it makes the stomach swell and the band tight, so when I got back from Alaska I went in and had .04 cc taken out, and lost about 6 lbs! So I am back on track now! The food was awesome by the way, what I got to stay down! LOL This month is my one year Bandiversary, I have lost 91 lbs so far and very happy and contented with the band, and I believe I will lose more in the next couple of years. Have fun and be sure to post photos for us to view.

  2. I'm new to this site and haven't had my surgery yet. I get a little scared when I read about people who aren't losing. It makes me feel that this could turn out like other weight loss attempts and that i'll walk away frustrated and still overweight. Your story inspires me and gives me hope. Keep up the good work.

  3. Awe, thats got to be exciteing. =.]

Ouch, that sucks. Eh, feel better! Um no, im not doing well at all, things with my family have been so hetic, I don't have time to watch or monotor, and help when I eat. Ive been so bad with food the last month. Im pretty sure ive gained back plus some. =./ Eh, im not going to give up yet though. This year has not been my year lol. I hope your surgery goes well though, maybe you will lose a couple extra cause of it =.]. My mom lost weight after she got hers out lol. You never know it could be a plus. =.]

  4. dab Hi I have lost about 172 lbs i am 19 months out and i am falling off the wagon i think :( i need some help. the morning of banding i was 497 and pre op i was 532 and lost some weight on pre op diet :) but i am slowing down and dont want to please help me please :)

  5. Oh i'm so excited to start working out again! Before my back got SUPER bad,to the point i'm at now, unable to work or even cook and clean... I had a membership to curves for about 2 years,i worked my ass off and lost about 50 pounds and about 20 inches all over I was looking really good, but my back started getting really bad and I had to quit :( I haven't been since January and that's how fast all my weight piled back on,I'm hoping that as I start to lose weight my back will strengthen up some so I can start out walking then exercising little by little,i'm super excited, you look great and give me the motivation to know it really can be done with alot of hard work! :]

  6. Well it's been 10 months since I had my surgery.. My weight is 198. I'm very happy with the weight loss. I still vomit alot.. I guess I eat too much, my mind still says yes to food.

  7. Hello Phyllser, You have come a long way baby!!!!! With weight loss and RVing. You look great! We have a fith-wheel we roam around in. We were down in Texas this past spring. We RVed for two weeks. We are not yet retied. my husband is 55 and can retire but we have my granddaughter living with us and her mom (our daughter). The mom is thinking about the Navy and I recomend it highly to her. Then I think we can set forth and do some good traveling. What kind of dog do you have? I have a Shitzu named Sophie. She loves the RV campgrounds. The smells are what she likes the most I guess. Please let me know how your trip went. Do you have a laptop? and get wifi where you stay? We try to. Good luck to you in your endevors. I have not been banded yet but hope to be soon. Wendy Ann

  8. I went from 238 to 209 and there I am stuck. I eat more than before but not half what I ate before surgery and now I walk about a mile a day. When you get old like me I guess it's harder. I don't go for a fill until mid Sept.

Glad you are doing well. I feel good even if I'm not losing more weight... I might be though because the doc said not to pay attention to the scale because the walking might be giving me more muscle. I put on my fanny pack today and could really see the difference... about 6 inches!!!

And the pictures.....wow! You look 15 yrs younger! I love the "do" too. Keep up the good work!

  9. I am impressed that you lost weight before the surgery. I am now 262... The biggest I have ever been. I am only 5'5 so you know I look like a basket ball. I am trying to motivate myself to exercise but I am soooooooo discouraged by the number on the scale. Good Luck on losing the rest of your weight! I know you will do well because you are determined.

  10. Hey lisa been awhile how you been i'm doing good i havent lost anymore weight i barely got my first fill and i'm hoping that this will help because i've been eating to much not like i used to before but enough that i haven't been losing any weight but at least i haven't gained i've been maintaining myself. I need to exercise more!

  11. Hey Bridgette, that is great! I am so glad you did the race and finished! I have yet to tackle on of those yet, maybe one day I will complete that task. I am losing weight slowly, about 45lbs now.

  12. You look great! congrats on your weight loss :)

  13. The words that your friend shared with you are very inspiring!!!! This journey of regaining our body and the image that we want people to see is all a matter of believing that we are WORTH it. I will have to read that statement a couple of times but I have the point of it planted in my soul.

I am very funny..... I am the funny fat girl that always has a joke to share. Now I just want to be the funny girl. I went to the Pulmonary Doctor and he cleared me. Next week I have the endoscopy exam..... The nutritionist is in October. I have been cleared by everyone else..... Now, I just weight the 6 months as required by insurance.

  14. i agree... its not like weight watchers or something like that... its more like a life time deal!

  15. Was you scared anytime during the pre op journey??? When did you start the diet to lose weight without the lap band?? I am full of questions. I just started and I hope to have my surgery by the latest November.

  16. Hello, I am also a June bug and read your post about making bad choices and pizza. I honeslty almost hit the floor bc I too am having the same problem with myself and pizza, AHHHHHH. Funny thing is, our weights are almost identical. And yes I do think that 30 pounds in 2 months is great. I need motivation as well, I feel like I am just accepting the slow weight loss. I need a wake up call now. I get so mad at myself too when I slip and eat something bad, that I think go ahead and eat a little more. My spiral needs to stop and I need to work harder. just thought I would share.

  17. Talk anytime you need. I truly understand, this December will be 6 years since my brother died (he was 24 yo and died in a motorcycle accident). Your sister sounds like she was the type of person that brighten a room as soon as she walked in. I also know that weight loss is very hard after during grief. So good job for all of your weight loss!!! Hope you have a good week.

  18. Hello everyone. I'm looking into having lap band surgery and I'm using this site to see real results good and bad. I've read somethings that have triggered questions. Hope you can help. I'm 5'7 280 lbs - I carrier most of my weight in my stomach. If the surgery works I'm worried I will have a bunch of hanging skin. How many of you have gotten a tummy tuck and did your insurance cover the surgery? Also some people said they were disbanded due to erosion. How long does the band work? and does insurance cover the cost to remove or replace the band?

  19. girl I jus broke up with my bf he was a lien n cheatin ass dog lol n Im sooo pissed n stressed/depressed..I find it helpful goin 2 da gym every morning n eating healthy...I feel better now Im losing weight! yayyyy

  20. Good luck as you move forward! I'll be joining you later in the fall. I'm doing the weight management right now and have all of the "clearance" doctors appts schedule. I"m excited and nervous.

  21. Hey Tina, how is it going? I still have good and bad days. I have been on 217 for two weeks no, no gain, but no loss. I guess I hit my first plateau. No worries, i still take one day at a time. My doctor says I am still ahead of where the average person should be, so that makes me feel better. God Bless, m-

  22. YOU look fantastic! I wish you a lot of success! I started my pre-op liquid diet. The dr did not instruct me to, but I started last Thursday (incorporated exercise) and I have lost 10lbs!! I am sure mostly water weight, but I am super excited!!
