  1. I was the same way... I lost 21 pounds when I went in for my post op check up (8days). I didnt gain any of it back. But it definately slowed down! LOL... continued good luck to you
  2. sounds like you are just a little too full (the band) you should probably have a little taken out.
  3. I take one Centrum Chewable with Minerals (need the iron) and 2 viactive calcium chews daily
  4. For me... eating too fast gets me everytime, also... too big of a bite no matter how much I chew it. I've finally thought I caught on but had a really bad stuck episode last night. Still don't feel right. Just been eating mushies today. They are staying down ok, but just a few bites have been filling me right up. Ugh...
  5. Don't beat yourself up. You need to know that once in a while ( not often) you can do those things. You can't totally deprive you self of stuff. Could you have made better choices, probably but you just got to make sure you don't make a habit out of it. If it really bothers you, go for an extra long walk or work out an extra 20 minutes. I have bad days once in a while, and I guess I do feel guilty about it too, but I just start over the next day and let it go! Good luck on your journey!
  6. Extra Extra Good Luck to you on your journey. Enjoy proving them wrong, you won't even have to tell them to their faces cuz they'll be able to see it.!!!!! I love my band, best thing I've ever done for myself!
  7. Well... does your doctor know you still can not eat solid protien? Some people, although it be few, never need a fill. The band itself, with no fill should create some restriction. Perhaps you should be totally unfilled for a while. It changes as you loose weight... you may need some fill down the road. If you haven't been back to your doctor, go and tell him what is going on. You can't survive on "sliders" and eventually you will not lose weight on "sliders". Good Luck to you, keep us posted.
  8. Yippee!!! Good for you! I wish I had started a blog. Best of luck on your LapBand Journey!
  9. Hi Tweedledee. Wow... that's the first time I've heard of 6 weeks liquid post op diet. That had to be hard, but YOU DID IT!!! Good luck on your continured journey!
  10. I didn't have to do the pre-op, liquid diet. They just wanted me to lose some weight prior to the surgery and absolutely no gaining or they would not do it. I lost 18 pounds over 3 months. It was hard, but I got to eat. I'm not much for drinking funky stuff either. It will go fast and it will be worth it. Good luck to you!
  11. That's too bad. Wonder why he took it all out? Do you still have some restriction from the band? Just make good choices, you are probably going to eat more but choose good foods to fill up on...eat healthy. Good luck to you!
  12. TKW - 338 nothing gained nothing lost Considering I only got to the gym twice and my 3 boxes of Girl Scout cookies came. ( Ended up giving them away cuz when I dug into the first box... all control went right out the window ) Have a great week!
  13. Welcome! Best of luck on your lap-band journey!
  14. you wouldn't think a Dr. would even do the band surgery if it were so unsucessful. What you say may be true, I don't know but I think it all goes back to following the lap band rules. It's not just till you lose the weight, it is for the rest of your life, people tend to forget that. So, is the band unsuccessful or are the bandsters unsuccessful? Guess that depends on how you look at it. Good luck to you on your new journey.
  15. I seem to eat a lot of chicken salad sandwiches. I just buy the 98% lean white chicken in a can, I like to add onion, celery, sometimes i chop up boccoli and cauliflower, radish... what ever raw veg I have and throw it in with the chicken and a little light mayo. I eat it on toast or crackers or wrap it up in lettuce. I've ate a lot of this since my surgery, so far I haven't gotten sick of it, the raw veg makes it nice and crunchy. Lots of Protien. I will agree with you that somethings just don't taste good anymore. I also will do lean cusine once in a while for lunch or leftovers. Good Luck!
  16. GREAT JOB SUNTA... CONTINUED HEALTHY LIVING TO YOU!
  17. I would say for me after 3 or 4 days the gas pains were completely gone. That was the worse part of the whole thing but mine were tolerable.
  18. Well, there is nothing wrong with having soup once in a while but it will go right through your band so it probably will not fill you up. (slider food) However, I make soup once in a while and I make it nice and thick with lots and lots of vegies and meat such as chicken or beef. I figured it all out and one cup of my home made soup had aprox. 150 calories and 9 grams of protien. I get plenty full, although I probably eat a little more than the standard 1 - 1 1/2 cups. It's not something you should have all the time but it certainly can't hurt once in a while. You want something that will stay with you so you are not hungry an hour later. Good Luck to you!
  19. Yeah, they repaired one on me too. My surgeon said 8 out of his 10 have a hiatal hernia! I was lucky, no pain to my knowledge. The "gas" pain was all I could concentrate on!
  20. Good for you! It may have seemed like a long road but it will be worth it. You should be very educated about the band by now. This is a great site to learn lots. My band advice would be, get educated about the band and how it works, drink your Water and exercise. I started out so slow with the exercise and it has been 7 months since my surgery. I could barely walk a mile on the tread mill and could only do 6 minutes on the eliptical. Now I do a 45 minute 3.5 mph up hill walk or 35 minutes on the eliptical 7 days a week. When I'm done with that I do 30 minutes strenght training a day. I thought at first the little bit I could do could hardly make a difference. Now I know it makes all the difference in the world. Best of luck on your journey! We all love to hear how you are doing, so keep us posted!
  21. If you have not vomitted - Congrats you are doing everything right. It happens to people a lot but because they are eating too fast or not chewing. It can cause slippage, so people may say everybody does it but the ultimate goal is to NOT vomit! I agree about the dark urine, you need more water.
