  1. Prayers for a speedy recovery and a glorious journey!!!
  2. My first fill was 5 weeks after my surgery and I had lost 22 pounds. That was quite a bit higher than most my dr. said but I was very heavy.
  3. Well, the more fluid I get in my band, the harder these things are to eat. However if I toast bread or and english muffin really well, I don't seem to have a problem. I find myself eating less of these things all the time though. If you get "stuck" on them often enough you learn not to even want them. That being said, I bought a package of the sandwich thins ( really really thin buns) I have had a couple of sandwiches made on them and they have gone down perfectly. There is not much to them. It is different for everyone, and the tighter your band gets the more problem you may have. Small bites are really the key. Good luck to you!
  4. Great job!!!! Doesn't it feel good, I too just reach 100 and yes, I see my life coming back also! Loving everyday! Way to go and keep up the good work!!!
  5. Good for you!!! I wish you much success!
  6. I had terrible acid reflux before my surgery but I have to gladly say, I have not experienced it even once since then. From what I read in the forum, that is usually a sign of being too tight or a slip. I haven't heard of eating too fast being a cause of reflux. (not that that means anything). Well, I hope you get the problem resolved, there is almost nothing worse! Good luck to you!
  7. My clinic is pretty stingy with the fills also, but as long as I am losing I am happy. This is a great web-site! It really helps motivate me and it is a great support system. Welcome!!
  8. It really isn't possible. You would have to eat 3200 MORE calories than you use just to gain one pound. I doubt with the band, unless you are eating A LOT of slider foods that you could do this. Every now and then my scale will show a 1 - 2 pound increase. I ignore it because I know that I only eat 1400 calories a day and I burn 3800 a day between my lifestyle (seated at a desk) and my exercise. It could be Water retention, maybe you haven't had a bowel movement in a few days, the adjustment maybe could have caused the issue, I'm not sure, but I bet in a couple of days that 3 pounds will be gone. Don't beat yourself up over it because it most likely isn't something you are doing wrong. The scale got so it drove me crazy... I was obsessed. Now I weigh 1 time a week! Good luck to you!
  9. I eat between 1200 - 1400.
  10. Well, you should follow your doctors orders but they all are different, I had no pre-op diet, just couldn't eat or drink after midnight. You should be fine, don't know what your mom was thinking, but I bet she wanted to treat you to one last meal of your favorite nacho's!!! Good luck to you!
  11. I was told 1 to 1 1/2 cups of food. 4oz protien, 1/2 cup veg, 1/2 cup starch. How can it all be so different?
  12. TKW - 331 (Down 5 pounds this week- early check in, I only weigh on Sundays) Good Luck this week everyone
  13. good for you... that's crazy!!!
  14. No, you should be fine. You can probably eat more because the initial swelling of your stomach after surgury has gone down. If you "hurt" your band, you'd know it by not being able to keep things down or having a lot of heart burn. Best of luck to you.
  15. Yes, it will get better, just take it easy. I have always had a very hard time eating in the morning because my band is so much tighter in the morning then it is later in the day. My dr. said that is totally normal. Good luck to you!
  16. I love Weight Watchers raspberry dark chocolate ice cream bars, 70 calories. Also, Cocoa dry roasted almonds, they come in a 100 calorie pack.... yum-O. I also like 100 calorie pack chex mix if i want something crunchy.
  17. Whoop Whoop!!! Great Job!
  18. Yeah... yippee, skippy, back flip, yooooo hooooooo!!! 100 gone, another 100 to go!!!
  19. I am one pound (acutally 3 oz ) from hitting 100 pounds! Going to the gym and then gonna step on the scale! (don't own a scale at home) Hope I'm not dissapointed, but I got a feeling its going to be a Great Day!!!
  20. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Good for you! Don't think I could do it.
  21. When I eat too much my upper back hurts.
  22. No.. not a good thing. If you get something stuck, or I notice too if I overeat, your stomach will start producing saliva to try and get the "stuck" object to pass through the band. But it is not just saliva, it is thick and slimey. I completely fill up with it when I get stuck and if it can't go down it comes up and I keep producing it until the object in unstuck.
  23. Try Carnation instant breakfast mixed with skim milk. It's like drinking chocolate milk. It probably won't help your nausea, but if you are getting nauseous from the protien drinks that might help. Also, you really should call your DR!!!
  24. Good Luck to you ALL!!!!
