  1. I felt like I ate so much "junk". I didn't go to the gym for 2 weeks (which is where I weigh because I don't own a scale at home) so I had no idea what my weight was doing. I went back to the gym Monday the 27th, the scale showed me the "exact" same weight! I hadn't moved even an ounce, which quite honestly I was greatful for! I was so afraid I had gained. So I worked out everyday this week and watched what I ate, and lost 3 pounds in 5 days!!! I'm ready to re-commit now that the Holidays are done!!! Good Luck Everyone!!! Happy New Year!
  2. OOOOOOOOOOOOOO.... yup, I was confused! Thanks! My band holds 10cc's
  3. I have a 10cc band. I just had my 3rd fill from 4.7 to 5.2cc total. I can not believe the difference that .5 cc made. It's like having to get used to chewing and bite size all over again! Good Luck to ya!
  4. Does anyone else get really sick from eating eggs. I am 6 months post surgery and I Cannot eat eggs. I instantly get that "stuck" thing going on no matter how small of bites I take or how well I chew, i have to throw up. Then I get extremely nauseated and vomit until I hurt. Scares me, I am so afraid of band slippage. Guess I will no longer even try an egg.
  5. mine is the same way as yours, my brothers is round like your girlfriends. I sort of think mine is sitting crooked but they have no problems putting fills in.
  6. WOW! That's great... my brother had surgery in March and has not yet had a fill, down 90+ pounds. His weightloss has now slowed considerably and he is thinking he is ready for his first fill. Great Job!!! Keep it up!
  7. anything soft that will "slide" right through your band. Ice cream, yougurt, Soups etc.
  8. I "had" high colesterol. Submitted info to the insurance Co. was approved within 2 weeks. (MEDICA)
  9. Wow... that's crazy, I can't imagine what it would have to do with the lap-band though. You should see your regular doctor, however I would still run it by your surgeon.
  10. I'm with you! Got rid of anything in the house that was not healthy yesterday, going to the gym after work today. Haven't been there for 2 weeks! I actually kind of miss it. Hoping I at least maintained, pretty sure I haven't lost, but have also been ignoring the scale. Happy New Year to everyone.... wishing you much success in 2011!!!
  11. I've had a number of "stuck" episodes. It usually happens when i do exactly what you said, eat too fast or take to big of bites. I don't think eating too much causes it, at least not with me (that's different pain for me!) Apparently it can not get thru the opening in your band and you start "sliming" in order to create enough saliva to get it to slide thru your band. I, however, usually end up throwing up to get rid of it because i litterally fill up with slime, and it has got to come out! It also is very painful. I can't believe the amount of slime i produce. If it can't go down, it's got to come up! I have learned that it really is how you eat more than what you eat. I can pretty much eat anything if the bites are small enough and chewed well enough. You'd think I'd catch on, but it still gets me once i awhile.
  12. My fill nurse says she has a client who has never had a fill and met her goal weight in one year! Also, my brother has not yet had a fill, he was banded in March and has lost 90+ pounds. Mindful Eating.
  13. I was nervous, wish I had just been excited instead because everything went GREAT and I'm so thrilled I did it! GOOD LUCK!!!
  14. Yogurt... OMG I hated that stuff. My dietician suggested Yoplait delights. They come in a 4 pack. The lemon parfait is delish, I also like the carmel parfait. If I can eat this yogurt anyone can!!! You should try it if you haven't. From there I tried many different yogurts, most of them i can't even gag down however Yoplait Light Thick and Creamy is really good too, I LOVE the key lime and the strawberry. Both these yogurts are more like pudding texture than that "milk gone bad" thing! If you haven't tried them, you really should because I didn't think I would ever be able to eat yogurt, now I eat it every morning and it is my go to snack if I really need something! Good Luck to you!
  15. Mumof2boys: Wishing you all the best, you are in my thoughts and prayers!
  16. Welcome!!! This site has helped me so much, Good Luck to you!
  17. WOW... that's great!!! Good for you and good luck on your journey!
  18. stick to it... I was on a plateau for 4 weeks... i didn't gain or lose even an ounce. I just kept doing what I was doing and week 5 I lost 8 pounds. Some people say to up your calories or change up your exercise. That may get you moving again! I just know I kept on doing exactly what I was doing and I started moving again. Good Luck! (I sneak snacks once in a while too, especially this time of year but I have been a pretty steady 1 - 2 pounds a week since I started moving again)
  19. WOW! To me it sounds like your head is screwed on perfectly straight, sounds like a success story to me!!! Good Luck:D
  20. Putting on my socks Cutting my toenails More energy Compliments sleeping so much better (that's the best!) I'm Happy (i always thought i was happy, but now.... I'm Happy!)
  21. No... spanking is not child abuse and some times a smart mouth deserves a slap! Don't get me wrong, too much abuse to children in this world and I don't like to see a child spanked or slapped, but sometimes it is more affective than a parent proving he can count to three!
  22. I don't deprive myself of little treats either, and when i hit a personal goal I treat myself. Not big, but I do. One time my treat might be a cookie or some type of chocolate. When I hit 75 pounds lost this week i treated myself with a full glass of skim milk!!! Did that hit the spot. The last thing my surgeon said to me was absolutely no beverages with calories, so i don't really even drink milk, I was so craving a cold glass of milk. Do what works for you, we are all different and there are all sorts of rules and guidelines set by our doctors... i've noticed they vary quite a bit. Good luck to you... 4 pounds is GREAT!!!
  23. I'm going to Italy... been saving for years and then when i could finally afford it my weight was so out of control that I could not imagine sitting in an airplane seat, that I could not fit into, all the way there. Money is in the bank... just waiting to hit my magic weight! Arrivederci!!!!!
  24. I don't typically snack between meals, but if i do it is usually cheese or yogurt. My bariatric center REALLY stress' NO SNACKING, but sometimes I still have too!
