  1. He was a strange little man, but I would agree nothing to worry about. He tested me to see if I was knowledgeble about the band, port, drinking water/while eating. Then gave me a packet to fill out. With questions like "if you see something good to eat do you eat it right away" and there were images I had to choose which one closely resembled my figure. (I guess to see if I had any body image issues) I turned it back in the next day and then came back for the results. He called me emotionally guarded but approved me anyway.
  2. I loved Atkins Cafe Caramel 15 grams of Protein and 5 carbs. Found them at Wal-Mart for $6.97 for 4.
  3. Good luck to you. I'm waiting on approval hopefully in the next couple of weeks.

  11. I can relate sometimesI feel the same way I look in the morror and say hey I dont look like I weigh 276lbs that is until I see a picture someone else has taken or myself on tv or video. A lot of people I've told did ask me why and said I dont need it. How much do you weigh? What is your BMI? Over the last 5 years has you weight been increasing if so, if this cycle continues what wiil your weight be 5 years from now? Good Luck

  14. Experienced banders just curious if any of you have resulted to Baby Food for your mushy stage for instance the stage 2 or 3 foods that include meats and veggies. Or even just the veggies.
  15. K.Boone I agree with 123crod I don't think that ADORAblesista was trying to judge you at all and she was right there is a mental part of us that has to change before we will see any physical changes. We have to see our band as tools not solutions. I wish you the best of luck. Ps I totally agree with 123crod about the support group.
  16. Sounds like Grandma is pushing some of her own insecurities off onto you....Keep you head up I have been in the same boat having a brother and 3 sisters that are all pretty much a size 6 and below when I weigh in at 276lbs. Good luck to you on your journey....next time act surprised "A FAT JOKE REALLY IS THAT THE BEST YOU CAN DO?"
  17. Have you tried speaking to your Nutritionist to see if it was what you are eating not how mcuh? Just a thought
  18. Hi Kim my husband was not onboard at 1st however he went to the surgeon's office with me and got all his questions answered. He's better now, but still unsure. The bottom line is I had to do this for me so wether he was ok with it or not, if was not done for him and he was not paying for it. Try your best to answer any questions that your family has invite them to a seminar or to the consult with you. But at the end of the day make the desicion for you!!!
  19. I am with the others follow you doctors advice.....If there is something you want to change, talk to your doctor. Why go thru all this to the band and then work against it. There are some cook books out there one is "Living Well After Weight Loss Surgery" check the book stores. Liquid does not just mean water and drinks. PLEASE DONT DO ANYTHING THAT COULD HURT YOU IN THE LONG RUN

  23. Hi Heather, I haven’t been banded yet I just finished all of the pre-op testing and info gathering. What I can say is be prepared for a long process it has taken me 4 months just to get to the point where I’m waiting for incurance approval and that could take another 2-3 weeks don’t get discouraged . Good luck!!
  24. Can't offer any advice but I can say good luck!!!! Keep us posted
