pre surgery over eating
Wow, what can I say. I have read all the post and I am not alone afterall. I am trying so hard not to go overboard with this eating I have develop. Im sure it is stress though. I need to get focused and stay prayerful that Gods Will Be Done. I am drinking Protein shakes daily, trying to remember to take Vitamins and trying to focus on eating habits. I know that journaling will help also. Also decided to begin juicing, in that it helps with losing some pounds along with losing Water weight from the lower extremity edema issue. Total water weight is 117% versus body fat at 73%. Hmmmmmm grhrgrhrgrgrh!!!!!! I know I want this soooo bad and do not want to be turned away at my pre-op, which is the day before surgery. I'm not sure what my pre-op diet will consist of but I am willing to do everything possible to not come back home without VSG.

17 weeks and....
Is that all from surgery or did you lose some weight before the procedure?

You sound unhappy. Don't get discouraged. You will get there. My last day of Options was Sept 20. And if it takes to Jan or Feb to have surgery then that will be the right time. I am at this point of no return. I keep going because I know I am further than others and wish I was farther than most. Time and patience is my focus. It also gives me more time to read the different post and add to my journal of the do and don'ts. Keep the Faith!!!!!!!

Got the date last week and now the times to see each specialist with Pacific Bariatric on Monday. So exciting. The appointments are very close and very happy for that. First appointment is with the surgeon, then the Internist and lastly Psych ending at 12 noon. I will have more than enough time to see my dad in Chula Vista, which is 15 minutes away and head up to Viejas Casino. I will leave Diego late night, after visiting cousins and uncles. Why not make it a fun day, huh? Ohhhhhhhhhh!!! My letter states that I must wait 21 WORKING DAYS to contact them regarding a surgery date because it gives them time to rcv all notes from your appts. So that will be November 16th. I wanted to wait after Thanksgiving anyway, because I will get paid for the whole four day holiday weekend. I work for LA County. I am salaried, but it does make a difference when 4 days are involved. I have sick time, but it will take the weekend days away. I can't have that now. lol. Anywho I am rambling. Very sleepy. Good night all.

I wonder = you as the patient cannot pick the hospital to where you want your procedure done? Wow. Kaiser Bellflower was/is so easy. I am satisfied with my progress. Last day of Options class we filled out medical info authorizations for PB. If you were staying with Kaiser this was not necessary. WE completed all labs during different weeks of the program. I walked into doctors office and asked (called) for the EKG - the same day; rcvd an original to take with me. I sent PB all info listed on their form and all is history. Got authorization number from Kaiser and booked consult date same day for the 18th. If surgery is not til Jan or Feb; its ok. hopefully really not the case.

Thanks for responding. Very informative. I will take into consideration the times of each. Seeing a movie is great. I will go to my favorite restaurant at Fashion Valley and have lunch with hubby. Why is there a 21 day clearance? and why no contact?

Kaiser Southern California
Hello everyone it has been a minute and had no idea of the change to the site. I like it. I first want to say to KristyKreme: I am praying for you. I know you are excited and nervous at the same time. I will be thinking of you. Also, guess what!!!!!!!!!!!! I rcvd my authorization from Kaiser and consult date two days ago with Paciific Bariatric. I attend the appointments on Monday, Oct. 18th. I finished Options Sept. 20 and hopefully the wait is not long to rcv a surgery date. Although I feel its going at a good pace. Kristy, did you have to drive to different locations for the appointments? I spoke to Cheryl and she says she will call me after everything is set up. She asked me general questions about the date I wanted to go for consult, what type of surgery, etc.

maybe i will request him when i am called for the consult. i liked when he said, if you want more than two weeks off i will give it to you. i want as much time as i can get. my husband is also taking some time off with me. and being with him is never a dull moment. he has been very helpful with me going through this.

Dr. Taller also spoke at the orientation I attended. How was he in your consult?

Kaiser Southern California
I attended PBs orientation Aug. 12 and already mailed all info that is needed. They are waiting for Kaiser to send other info with authorization number. So hopefully I will get consult date in a few weeks.=kristykreem;82522]weigh8nomor ... OMG!!! 6 - 8 month wait at WLA? AAAAAHHHHHHhe!! you just made me feel sooooooo much better about choosing to go with PB! the only thing PB has done that drove me crazy was taking five million years to call me about my surgery date. while i was waiting for them to call, i got several different versions of the PB timeline from various staff members, and i was starting to freak out. but now that they've called me with my surgery date, all is well. they pretty much scheduled me for the week i originally requested, so all my worrying was unnecessary. my consultation with my surgeon (dr. taller) was on august 23rd and my sleeve is scheduled on october 13th. that's a hell of a lot better than the wait at WLA. that said, the PB wait time is starting to get longer and longer. at my PB orientation in late july, they said the wait from consultation to surgery was about a month. now, it's about two months. they're being bombarded with kaiser patients because kaiser can't get its act together, so the faster you can get to a PB orientation and get your blood work to them, the better.

Permanent Makeup
smiling at dr. pepper lip balm. i wear MAC oil free foundation and victoria secrets flavored lip gloss. [QUTE=Globetrotter;79193]I love taking the time to put on make up, granted it is a rare occasion that I wear anything beyond tinted moisturizer and tinted lip balm but when I make the time to do my hair and make-up, it is almost like a zen thing for me, because I am taking the time to beautify myself. It doesn't have to be a chore to apply make-up! There are so many advancements in make-up technology these days, I swipe on Almay invisible foundation, it's freaking amazing! I don't know how it does it, but it goes on white and then turns the color of my skin, if it weren't for the obvious blemish I

sounds so exciting. i cant wait to get authorization to PB. i guess i can assume to have surgery in late november or middle of december. [QUO TE=Weigh8nomor;82414]I am from Kaiser WLA and I first begin options classes back in 2007 when they were ( I think) 24 weeks long...I lost over 30 lbs by the end of my options class and "OPTED" out of the surgery ~ they weren't doing sleeves then and RYN still seemed so drastic to me. In 2009 I truly wanted the surgery so I attended a shortened 20 week class...I felt as if I were on punishment taking the class all over and with the same instructor. Upon completion of my second "tour of duty" I was told there was a 6-8 month wait for surgery at WLA or Harbor City...I just couldn't wait...I chose the Pacific B route which had a 6-8 WEEK wait...I am 4 week out today and I can say my Pacific B experience was the absolute best! I liked that they specialize in Bariatric surgery ~ Kinda like going to Midas muffler for my car cause they do nothing but mufflers.... Good luck to all of you who are waiting. I can honestly say..."I love my sleeve"
