  1. Hello Does Kaiser Fontana give an outsourced referral to another surgery center. I went through Kaiser Bellflower and had the option to pick Pacific Bariatric in San Diego. You may want to check that as an option. I also had to go to San Diego and see the surgeon, do psych eval, physical with another doctor. This was all completed the same day. My whole process was a year from February 2010 being referred to Options class from June to September. October I was in San Diego for the psych eval, etc... After that I was scheduled for surgery in February 2011. In my area with Kaiser there was a 8 to 10 month wait after options class. And Of course, I didn't want to wait that long. If you want you can go to www.pacificbariatric.com and check out info. My surgeon is Dr. Janos Taller and he is not only good looking, but a really good caring person and explained everything. Dr. Tanaka is good also. He had to release me from the hospital, because Dr. Taller had an emergency. Krys
  2. Question to those who have had a Panniculectomy, TT, or Abdominoplasty procedure. In the hospital what was the feeling you had once you knew your abdomen was no longer hanging, sticking out, or having loose skin? Also, after you went home while recovering, what were your family and friends reactions? And how often did you look in the mirror? How many sizes did you go down and/or inches did you lose? As my day approaches, I keep going on in my mind, wondering to myself, will I cry, or smile ear to ear, or do I just want to jump and go running to scream it to the world. Krys
  3. I work for the County of Los Angeles and as employees we do not pay into state disability we have the option to pay for it, through payroll deduction. I have three insurance companies I use. So, It doesn't matter if I use my sick time or not, because I am able to use it all. How it works is, as an option we use 100% sick time first; however many hours you have on the books. After 100% is gone, then it automatically goes into 65% time; I usually have about 336 hours, and after this is gone the 50% time goes into effect and I usually have 224 hours of this. Every January 1st, there is an added 336 and 224 hours added to my employee number. I've been there 14 years and I accumulated 8 hours a month of vacation and 9 hours of sick. So for any type of disability I am able to get full/partial pay and three paid claims.
  4. Hello Looking Head Everyone's body is different, but it took me about a year. The first three months were fast and then a stall. It picked back up and I began losing again. Weight gain here and there, because I have lower extremity edema, which is Water weight. I had good and bad days, but it worked out. My edema is really bad; I had water gain in 24hours that was a jump of about 20lbs. I have to take Lasix and potassium @ day and wear compression stockings all day. Don't worry too much, you'll be just fine. Always comeback to the boards for support. I do. Krys
  5. What is plank? Krys
  6. I'm in So Calif. I have Kaiser insurance and yes the hospital is paying for it (Panniculectomy). My VSG was outsourced from Kaiser to Pacific Bariatric in San Diego and Kaiser paid for it. It was a total of 68,000. There was no way I good have paid for VSG. Thank God for my good job and medical insurance. Krys
  7. Hello Because I am having some back issues and the flapping of the apron is too much when exercising. I'm beginning to walk leaning forward. Before I walked with a straight back, the reason I'm having it early. I know I have not lost all the weight, and of course, I will lose more, but at least the pann will be gone. Its all about how I will work at to keep it tighten after surgery. But at this point, I have the mindset, whatever a girdle or spanx can't hold in, MY PANN IS GONE. Everyone's situation is different. I've lost close to 100. Also before surgery I had a hanging apron, it just worst and longer since the weight loss. No matter how much information you search, you will never know what to expect after surgery until you are there. Krys
  8. I was sleeved in February 2011 and I will undergo a Panniculectomy on October 2, 2012. Although I am not at goal weight, my pannus has caused me to have severe backaches, but with no rashes or anything like that. It has become difficult to do aerobics (Zumba), a lot of jumping around hurts like crazy. I walk 4-5 times a week for about an hour or more. Since I have had a breast reduction in 1990 I was able to call the plastics department (with no referral) and set up an appt to see the surgeon who perform my reduction. This past Monday, I met with him and without hesitation he scheduled me. He asked a few questions, checked my pannus and then my breast to see if there is anything special I want done, and told me to stay with exercising and eat as naturally and nutritionally as possible. Krys
  9. Although I have been out for a year and a half, I Zumba about 4-5 times a week I love it. I bought the Zumba (Beto Perez) latest version about three weeks ago and love it. But before then I was in a recreation center class for over a month. It was $5 a class and my husband added that up and told me to buy it. I think he just wanted me home, lolololol. So, while he's on Xbox360, I'm Zumba'g in another room. He has Zumba'd with me too. It's FUN. Try it. It's 7 DVDs that came in the box. I ordered it through Amazon and paid 72.00.
  10. @calikat What about it that gets slimey? Sounds like a great by. Also, how often should it be cleaned for a refill of Water?
  11. Hello BK Try Sports Authority, the store and online have great (sale) deals weekly. I also think if you sign up you automatically get a 10-20% of coupon. Good luck Krys
  12. Good question Neeve. Thanks Shellbell for the response. I am scheduled for a Panniculectomy October 2nd and doing this exercise until the date is perfect. Have a good day.
  13. Thanks. You have a great ideas. This is why I made it back to the site. But I have a question. How are you getting in that many calories a day? What does your meal(s) consists of. I normally have a Protein shake or Cereal in the morning, lunch is meat, salad or veggies; at times garlic bread and dinner probably the same as lunch or I'm badly snacking. I love Lipton peach tea and lately I have been making lemonade with fresh lemons; craving this everyday. Water is truly not a friend of mine. But I read a site today at www.bariatricchoice.com on water and it really helped me to understand the meaning of and why it is needed. Sooooo, lol, beginning tomorrow I am going to try and a bottle (16oz) every one 1/2hours. This will surely help in the snack area that is driving my weight not to go down.
  14. Thank you. I do understand about the abdominal removal. And I will be trying really hard. Thanks for the advice.
  15. Thank you Lissa. And yes, I know what I need to do. I am trying to reach 100lbs lost by 2/18 (surgiversary date).
  16. www.justmysize.com has them also for $4.99 .... I wear them under jeans, dress, under workout clothes, etc. A side note: They are tighter than stockings, but worth it. Helps with the inside of my thighs and butt not to jiggle as much (or not at all). I love they way they make feel. You can find them in the section of the catalog for stocking and online search leggins or tights.
  17. Hope everyone has had a wonderful 10 months. How is everyone doing so far? It's holiday time and tempted eating habits can be steadied if we watch ourselves closely. I know I've been snacking a lot of not so good things for a while. But my mind is slowly getting it it together. I need more support now; my reason for coming back to the site. Happy Holidays to all of you and be safe. Krys
  18. Hope everyone is doing great as the end of the year approaches us. Holiday time is usually crucial to people with all the fixin's that goes along with turkey and dressing. Happy Holidays to all of you and be safe.
  19. Awesome and Bless you always on your journey
  20. Four days ago was my 10 month surgiversary. I have been at 80 lbs lost for about four months now. I am wondering is this it for me, or will I all of a sudden drop like crazy soon. I will admit I snack like there is no tomorrow. Only if I can get this under control and push that treadmill harder I can win at this. I have days where I eat healthy and days where I want nothing but junk or snack foods. I saw my doctor this past Monday and he says I am doing great as far as weight loss. But my mind says girl get it together; its not over yet. I'm also scheduled to see the plastic surgeon on Jan. 3rd. I know this is early, but I like to know where I stand as far as the procedure goes. I've been watching youtube videos of the abdominalplasty surgical procedure. Well, I will check in soon. I need to stay connected with this site. Hope you all continue to do well.
