  1. I am so happy that someone else is experiencing the same things as i am. I was banded on 3\8\2011 and although i only lost 20lbs i am feeling good. Heartburn completely gone, my clothes are loose now wearing xlarge instead of 2x. complexion good. sleeping well at nights waking up without feeling tired. Thats a lot and for that alone i am happy i did the lapband.
  2. Believe me it will get better. I was banded on March 8th and i too thought it was rough until i gradually started to feel better. Hang on in there.
  3. Hoping for the best. Please count on us we have your back.
  4. I had surgery on 3\3\2011 i can feel and see my port under the skin. I don't mind at all because i think i can monitor it myself if it is this way. One added benefit and this is my personal experience from me being a Registered Nurse and had the opportunity to access ports for Chemo, its better when it can be felt. The nurse can get to the soft part easier for the fills. Reading some of these blogs, and i admit i am new, but i think sometimes they are missing the port and the fluid is going somewhere else for the fills. Accessing ports is a unique skill and it takes practice. So again my personal opinion its better if you can see and feel your port. Small price to pay.
  5. Hi Nads, Hope you are doing well. I too just had my surgery on 3\8\2011 and i am OK. This as you know will be a long journey so we will encourage each other to exercise patience along the way. So until then we will keep posting our progress. All the best and get well soon.

  7. I was also banded on 3\8\2011, today i am feeling much better. The first two days was a killer but now i am doing great very little pain and gas. My swelling must have gone down and i am feeling hungry, but i am fighting like hell to stick to my clear liquid. On Wednesday i go to see my surgeon and from there i will see how things go. Just hang on in there and things will get better. I am also back at work . I feel blessed. All the best everyone.
  8. Hello there, i am four days post op, first two days was bad for me, mainly because i did not take my percocets as prescribed, i did not want to depend on it too much. I started taking 1\2 of the Percocet every 4hours pain or no pain and i was feeling much better then. Today no meds and yesterday only took 1\2 of a pill. i think i am doing good so far. 258LBS day of surgery today 250. Just to mention i was 269 before i started my two weeks liguid diet. Therefore i am down 19 lbs thank god, Wish you and all other Bandsters well and keep posting.
  9. I am requesting some help. I am Day # 2 post-op and very uncomfortable. It hurts when i take deep breaths, hurts when i swallow in the epigastric area, when i drink i feel pressure in my stomach and chest area. i think i can feel the band around my stomach hurting when i swallow. I called my surgeons office they told me this is normal it will all go away. My port site is swollen, lots of gas and pain pain pain, i am now taking my pain meds every four hours consistently. Give me some feed back please. I will be seeing my surgeon next Wednesday.
  10. Oh my goodness i was banded yesterday and i am in sooooooo much pain. They gave me Percocets but that is too strong for me. Anyway i am doing the best i can and you do the same it will get better.

  20. Thanks Amanda you said it just right. I will be banded on 3\8\2011 not happy that i have to do it but i need help. I have tried losing weight over and over again just cant keep it off. The prejudice that is dished out at people who are over weight is just too much. We all need each other let us be supportive.

  22. I will be banded on March 8th, 2011 four days after you and honestly i cant wait. Let me advise you to read the sucess stories. I have kept this from everyone even the person who will be taking me to the hospital and bringing me back home. I am tired of been overweight and will not wait another day to get some help with it. There is so much prejuidice againt the overweight and some of us like me who has PCOS a disease that makes it practically impossible to lose weight wish there was more understanding to people struggling with their weight . Best wishes tomorrow and you certainly will do just fine. Best of luck.
