  3. I swear while reading your post I was thinking to myself, "wow, I could of written this myself". It's reasuring to know other people feel the same way I do - sometimes I feel like I am a lepper and all alone in my thoughts and emotions.... You look FABULOUS and should be SO proud of yourself... I am hoping to get banded sometime within the next 30-60 days and am thinking of doing a video journal as well as a blog on it (I am a former magazine editor, I can't shake my passion! lol) and from your entry it makes me definitely want to do it! CONGRATS TO YOU GIRL!!
  4. I have the option of splitting my surgery over two Credit Cards or using My Medical Loan's "No Patient Left Behind" program - although while filling out my paperwork I decided to google some info and found some bad reviews about them being bankrupt and people losing their money, etc. Anyone have any advice?? Or dealt w this company?? Thanks..
  5. I have the option to split my surgery over two credit cards or use My Medical Loan for their "no patient left behind" program - anyone have suggestions or advice? I was filling out the paperwork for MML and decided to google for some info on the program and found some negative reviews about them being bankrupt, etc..... and input would be appreciated!
  6. Hi Angel - I'm new here, too. I mostly lurk but tend to *try* and post every now and then. I understand where you're coming from, concerning my 9 year old step-son, but also bc my husband and I plan on having more kids and there's no way I could see myself carrying this heavy. I wish you luck in your en devours, I'm still researching Mexico docs before making a decision!
  7. how great of you! I am excited for you and you should be proud of yourself! I wasn't going to tell my parents either bc my mother is very ill and my dad is already over-worried bc of her situation, but I couldn't help myself, I had to tell my mom - then of course she told dad. lol Stick with it!! You'll do great!!
  8. I am new here - so I hope I am posting this correct. I have been searching and reading for hours and hours the past several days on older posts regarding these doctors - I wanted to post a new thread to try and get patient stories from recently - can anyone attribute to either one of these docs and your experiences? Thanks so much guys - this whole process is overwhelming, but worth it in the end I am sure. trisha
  9. I've zapped eggs before in a hurry, and make them for my son often when I don't feel like busting out pans, etc. Not bad at all, you'll be surprised I bet once you try it. They come out really fluffy too. Lol
  10. Timandmich - I'm in Tx, too. Fort Worth area.
  11. Well I am sure you'll get it figured out - there's usually always ways around that stuff.
  12. Oh no! I'm still waiting for mine to get finalized too, it's really a pain. I may just end up going the credit card route w care credit cause its just easier!! If you don't mind me asking, are ya'll using a medical lender or private lender?
  13. lol for sure - I can't imagine having to add travel on top of the complexities of the whole procedure and road up to it anyways!
  14. Hey Alicia - I am in Texas as well - what part are you in? I'm in the Fort Worth area.
  15. you're a pretty girl Moo! I am excited for you - you'll have to let us know how your appointment goes on Wednesday. From your profile it looks like you and your husband are paying self pay? How much does your surgeon cost? I did a lot of research and my doc was the lowest I found across the country - and thank goodness he's 10 miles from me - and he's 10,500. 800 - anesthesia, 4500 to him and the remainder to the hospital.
  16. Hi Lindsey - I'm 28 as well and still in the process of getting the financing secured to go forward with my band (I'm self-pay). I'm hoping to eventually be able to set my surgery date for late aug/early sept. This is my first post, I've just been lurking for hours on my phone through the message boards mobile forum! My BMI is 44 and I have no idea what my goal weight is yet bc I have no idea what skinny would be for me since I've been overweight practically my whole life...
